The Bareminerals Complexion Rescue is a new tinted gel cream that launched earlier this month, I had seen a few blog posts on it and I was on the look out for a lighter base for the spring/summer months so I thought I would go and try this out. Cue me walking into Boots and John Lewis wondering why the hell I couldn’t see it on the Bareminerals counters. That is until I went into Debenhams! It turns out it was initially exclusive to Debenhams until about two weeks ago. The lady at the counter pretty much sold it to me straight away, it was everything I was looking for.
The Bareminerals Complexion Rescue is described as a BB, a CC and tinted moisturiser all in one. A ‘multitasking genius’ combining skincare benefits with naturally radiant coverage. Available in 10 shades, I was matched with the lightest of the 10, Opal 01. Perfect for the fairest porcelain skin with cool undertones. This gel cream contains powerful marine botanicals to hydrate and help replenish thirsty skin, contains SPF 30 which is perfect for those sunny summer days and has a dewy sheer-to-medium coverage for a smooth, radiant finish.
I was told by the lady on the counter to apply only a pea-sized amount and to use my fingers to get the best use out of this gel cream. However, you can also build up for additional coverage using a brush, I like to use my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
however Bareminerals have launched a new brush to go with the Complexion Rescue, the Smoothing Face Brush
. I did not buy it as it would of been another £24.00 on top.
Right now, as my skin is so dry, this was exactly what I needed. My foundations just aren’t sitting right at the moment, clinging to the dry patches and looking a little cakey. However this gel cream does none of that. It gives a smooth, ‘my skin but better’ look with a nice added glow. Obviously this will not cover any dark circles, blemishes etc so it is perfect for those days when you want a light, fuss-free base as you can also skip the primer and powder, it lasts for a good few hours without these.
This was my first ever Bareminerals purchase and I’m extremely impressed. I probably will re-purchase this when I run out and I might just buy the brush!
Have you tried the new Complexion Rescue? What do you think?
