I’ll be honest – up until a few years ago I was absolutely crap at remembering to moisturise after showering, I’d then wonder why my skin was so dry. Fast forward a few years and now I have far too many moisturisers lying around and in fact one featured in this post I had forgotten about for months and have only recently rediscovered my love for it. I do like my moisturisers to sink into the skin quickly so I’m not left waiting for it to dry, I do think this was partly the reason I always used to skip this important after shower step. I’m a very impatient person. I’ve now found great moisturisers that dry quickly, are non greasy and leave my skin feeling soft and smooth. One even leaves my skin with a nice subtle tan..
Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion
I really love this lotion by Dove. Not only does it give you soft moisturised skin, it also contains a gradual self tanner to give you a nice subtle tan. I’m not big on tanning as I’ve mentioned before but this is so subtle that mistakes like streaky patches are minimal, if you apply correctly of course!
Soap & Glory The Daily Smooth Body Butter
This is my most used moisturiser out of the 5, I really love everything about it. It has a lovely scent, it leaves my skin feeling lovely and it absorbs super quickly, everything you want from a moisturiser. However, it does annoy me how I have to place the tube upwards to get any product out, if i place it downwards, nothing comes out?! I probably just have a dud tube, but it gets a little annoying!!
Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturiser
This moisturiser is the quickest out of the 5 for absorption. It is perfect for those days when you don’t have time to wait around for your moisturiser to sink in as this literally takes seconds. It’s fab! I’ll admit though, the first spray is a bit of a shock because it is freezing! I nearly jumped out of my skin the first time but you do get used to it. They have 3 different versions of this moisturiser, I have the Aloe Fresh, the other two are Cocoa Radiant (Cocoa Butter) & Essential Moisture (Oat Extract).
The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Body Butter
I got this last year and used it religiously for quite some time but then I must of moved onto another moisturiser and so I stop used using this gorgeous body butter. I’ve recently rediscovered my love for this product, it smells absolutely heavenly and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. It probably takes the longest to absorb but it isn’t a long wait at all.
Ted Baker Butterfly Body Lotion (Unavailable)
I got this Ted Baker body lotion last Christmas inside my Ted Baker make up bag. I don’t use this one as often as the others, however it is still a lovely lotion. I wouldn’t say it absorbs that quickly, however like The Body Shop body butter above it isn’t long before it does. It has quite a nice subtle floral scent to it which I like. Plus the packaging is so pretty!
