Usually I start my monthly favourites posts with the cliché ‘where has this month gone!?’.. however this month is a little different. I hate to wish away the days but now that August is over it means my holiday is a little closer, next month in fact and I’m so excited. I’m a huge lover of summer but I’m also happy that it’s now autumn and soon it’ll be cold enough to bring out the big comfy jumpers, coats and my favourite shoes – boots. Yey. That’s not to say I’m not excited about the warmer days in Fuerteventura I have coming up too. The best of both worlds. So here’s what I’ve been loving in August!
Starting with a stunning palette from my favourite budget brand, Makeup Revolution. This is the Naked Chocolate palette that I bought back in July along with the I Heart Chocolate palette and the amazing Ultra Base Corrector Palette. Isn’t this palette beautiful? Each shade is such a ‘me’ shade, I will get use out of all of them and it’s also perfect for autumn. I also adore the quirky packaging, such a nice touch! A full review on this palette will be on the blog in the next few weeks.
When I first got the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, I wasn’t too impressed. It creased, the coverage was far from amazing and it wouldn’t last long before eventually going patchy. I don’t know what happened but now I actually really like it. It still creases a little but the coverage has improved and the lasting power too. A bit strange however I’m happy as I really wanted to love it after all the hype surrounding it plus it’s not cheap!
In my August Birchbox was this little pot of Huygens Exfoliating Cream. I’ve been using it once a week as a facial exfoliator and I’ve been loving it. Not only does it smell absolutely gorgeous, it is also great at leaving the skin soft and hydrated after exfoliating without any irritation.
Another product I received in a beauty box is the Trilogy Everything Balm. This balm can be used pretty much anywhere however I’ve been using it on my lips as I ran out of my Cowshed lip balm and it saved me from going to buy another. I wouldn’t say it’s the best lip balm I’ve used however it does the job just fine when you have nothing else around. I certainly missed it when I misplaced it for a couple of days. I eventually found it on my sofa. :/
Last but not least is a product I’ve featured in a favourites before, my May favourites. Again received in a beauty box and probably my favourite product I’ve received in them, the Caudalie Vinoperfect Tinted Moisturiser. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a product as much as I love this. It’s the only base I’ve been reaching for in August. The shade is the perfect match for my skin tone, it is super moisturising, hydrating and complexion enhancing leaving my skin looking radiant. It also contains SPF20 which is always a bonus! Definitely buying a full size version for my holiday, it’ll be the perfect base.
