If you’re a regular reader here you probably know that I’m off to Fuerteventura next week.. in fact in 6 days! I’ve been umming and ahhing over what make up products to take with me for a while so I sat down and wrote a list (organised, much?) of products I needed and others I probably don’t really need and then packed them all into my pretty toiletry bag I got from Next. Non surprisingly, I’ve pretty much ended up with all the products I used religiously over the summer and some new additions too. So if you want to know what products made it into my holiday make up bag, keep on reading..
FACE: Wearing foundation in hot weather is a big no no for me and I think for pretty much everyone even during the evenings. So a lighter base is welcome and my favourite Caudalie Vinoperfect Tinted Moisturiser has obviously made its way into my holiday make up bag. I absolutely love this, it evens out my skin tone and gives just the right amount of coverage however as it’s nearly empty and I’ve been unable to buy another, I opted to buy the Garnier Ambre Solaire BB Cream as an alternative. Initially, I didn’t realise I picked up medium however this adapts to and blends with your skin tone so it is no biggie. It gives decent coverage, hydrates, illuminates and evens out your skin tone and also has an uber high SPF of 50. I’ve also included the Benefit “That Gal” Primer if I feel like having a no make up at all day. This is a lovely brightening face primer that transforms dull skin into brighter more luminous skin, something we all want on holiday! Concealer wise, It’s no surprise my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is featured, I can’t live without it! No other concealer is as good as this – the coverage, the lasting power.. it really is ‘lasting perfection’.
For blushes, I have chosen two. Somehow I’ve managed to restrain myself from adding more! The Clinique Cheek Pop in Melon Pop is quite an obvious choice. Subtle, silky smooth and an absolutely stunning! The other is the Topshop Glow Stick in Spotlight.. this adds such a beautiful dewy glow to the skin and is super easy to apply. I’ve recently fallen in love with Benefit High Beam and there is no way I’d go on holiday without this uber stunning highlighter! It’s adds a lovely sheen to achieve a gorgeous radiant glow to the cheek bones, brow bones.. anywhere you like really! The last face product I’ve included is the Soap & Glory Solar Powder Bronzer as I’m not really one to use a lot of bronzer due to being as white as a ghost, this is the perfect one for me. With a light hand, this can give a real subtle, healthy bronzed glow.
EYES: For eyeshadow, I feel Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette is a good choice. You can achieve many looks with this palette. A light wash of colour during the day using the light rosy pinks or something a little darker for the evenings using the likes of Factory or Darkside. I’ve also included the Bourjois Colorband Eyeshadow in Beige Minimaliste for when I want something quick and easy to apply, Beige Minimaliste is a stunning shimmery champagne nude. For an eyeshadow base and primer, I’ll be trying out the new Benefit Airpatrol. I can’t wait to see how long it keeps my eyeshadow from budging in the Spanish heat! It also has SPF 20 which is a bonus!
For the brows, I don’t really need two products but I switch between them so often I kind of have to bring both! The Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil is more for during the day as I find it more subtle and less defining than the Topshop Brow Palette in Fetch which gives more definition and is a lot better at filling in the gaps. I especially bought the Seventeen High Drama Liquid Eyeliner for the evenings, I’m yet to try this out but I’m hoping I can finally master the flick with this! As for mascara, the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara is a must. Volumising, intense colour, lengthening and no clumping – what more could you want!? The last product for the eyes are my beautiful rose gold Vintage Cosmetic Company Rose Gold Eyelash Curlers (not pictured).
LIPS: Definitely taking more lipsticks than I need AND I’m considering purchasing a few MAC lipsticks at Duty free.. I just can’t help it. I’m a lipstick junkie! The MAC lipsticks I’m taking with me are Creme Cup, Fanfare and Vegas Volt. Fanfare and Creme Cup are great everyday shades and Vegas Volt is the perfect coral and absolutely gorgeous! Obviously being the coral lip lover that I am, one is not enough so the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in In With Coral is also coming along. Last but not least is the Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Sweet Pop, a lovely everyday pink.
