When this post goes live I will have literally just landed back on British soil from sunny Fuerteventura. 🙁 I recently shared with you all my holiday makeup so it’s only right to show you all the skincare products I took with me next. I’ve become quite a skincare fanatic over the last few months and I’m probably taking more than I really need. However they all fit in my toiletry bag, so y’know why not?!
For cleansing, I have my two favourites. For a deeper cleanse, the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. Probably more likely to be for my morning cleanse most days as I’m obviously going to be drinking gorgeous cocktails some evenings and I’m likely to end up a bit
drunk tiddly so when I arrive back at our apartment I’m more likely to reach for my Bioderma Micellar Water instead. Less effort and a lot quicker at removing make up, dirt and grime.
I’m bringing my new No 7 Soft & Soothed Gentle Toner with me. I’m yet to use this but I’m really looking forward to giving it a try. After toning, it’s time to apply serum and a facial oil. The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil is a really light non-greasy nourishing oil, something you want in the warmer weather. Not only is it good for the skin, it is also great when used as a hair oil. For serum, I’ve got the Caudalie S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum, after loving their Vinoperfect serum, I’ve also fallen in love with this one from their Vinosource line. This is really a good serum for sensitive, dry skin so I really like it.
If I fancy exfoliating while I’m away I’ve included my little Huygens Exfoliating Cream. This smells of lime so has a great holiday scent but not only that, it is so gentle on the skin and does not leave it irritated in the slightest. After, I need to moisturise and yep, due to my dry skin I usually use two! First I’ll apply the light Nuxe Creme Prodigiuese Anti-Fatigue Moisturizing Cream all over to awaken the skin and leave it soft and moisturised. On my really rough dry patches such as my nose, I apply the Eucerin Intensive 100% Urea Treatment Cream, I can’t live without this stuff, it has really transformed my skin over the last few months. I then finish up my routine with an eye cream such as the Burts Bees Sensitive Eye Cream and as I’ve been suffering a few breakouts recently I also use the La-Roche Posay Effaclar A.I Targeted Breakout Corrector. As this is meant for oily skin, I only apply it on my blemishes and scaring left over from past breakouts as it can be drying but thankfully it’s been really good on my skin.
Other skincare bits include the Caudalie Beauty Elixir to use throughout the day if I feel like my skin needs a refresh. I’ve popped my favourite overnight mask in, the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask in more so for the night I arrive as I’m sure after a 4 hour flight, my skin won’t be too pleased. To prevent dry, chapped lips I’ve got my Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub and I’ve also included my mini Benefit Dream Screen to protect my face from the sun.
