Christmas Day Makeup

With only 6 days to go, I thought I’d share my Christmas Day make up. I’m not one to stay in my PJs all day, I like to get dressed up and do my hair and make up but by the evening, I will be slobbing out on the sofa in my fluffy onesie after eating and drinking a lot so I’m not too fussed about how long my make up lasts apart from lipstick because I don’t want to keep re applying throughout the day.

My christmas day make up isn’t too different from my current everyday make up. However, I’ll be switching from my usual full coverage foundation to a lighter, more comfortable base and the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue is perfect. It still has plenty of coverage without the heavy feeling of foundation. This makes my dry skin look fresh and dewy without causing flaky patches which can give my skin a cakey appearance. Unfortunately for me, this happens with a lot of foundations so I love Complexion Rescue for that reason alone.

Without a doubt, my choice of concealer is going to be the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, I rarely use any other. This is my all time favourite, the coverage is so good and is perfect for my dry skin. Over the top of my concealer, I’ll use the YSL Touche Eclat. Two sweeps just to brighten the under eye area a little bit more. I’ll then use this to highlight my cheek bones, down the sides of my nose and my cupids bow. I’ve really fallen in love with this! Well worth the price tag.

As I’m going to be wearing quite a bold lip, I want to keep everything else minimal. So for blush, I’ve chosen the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Lovely Pink. On fair skin, this is so subtle and just adds a really pretty glow with a hint of colour. Just like the name, it really is ‘lovely’.

On the eyes, I’m going to use my new Glam Eyes eyeshadow quad from Rimmel as it seems perfect for a festive eye. I’ll probably use a combination of both shades on the left and right of the quad as together they create a gorgeous light champagne shade. I might wear my Seventeen High Drama Liquid Eyeliner but I’m not the best at lining the top eyelid so I’ll see if I want to attempt it on the day!

I’ll finish off my eye make up with my new favourite mascara, the Clinique High Impact Mascara. This lengthens, curls and volumises my lashes like no other! On my brows, I’ll use my Topshop Brow Palette in Fetch just to fill them in and add a little definition.

Finally, I feel a red lip is a must on Christmas Day and I’m stuck between two this year. MAC Ruby Woo in my eyes is the perfect red for me. As a pale skinned girl, red can be a little daunting. As Ruby Woo is matte with probably the best lasting power of any lipstick I own, it will no doubt last throughout the entire day regardless of how much I eat or drink so it’s probably the best choice. However, I also love the Maybelline Color Drama in Red Essential. Another really lovely red for pale skin and so easy to apply with it’s gorgeous creamy texture but the lasting power is no where near as good as Ruby Woo. Dilemma!

What make up are you wearing on Christmas Day?
