It doesn’t feel that long ago that I was sat here writing my 2015 favourites post and now here I am, end of January and it’s time for the monthly favourites to make a return. I feel like January flew by but also dragged a fair bit which is probably down to the so called January Blues (and Dry January maybe?!!) Here’s what I’ve been loving in January..
Just before Christmas, I did a little haul on the Birchbox shop and picked up a few new bits. Two products that have stood out the most are The Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer and the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil.
Mary-Lou Manizer is an absolutely stunning honey-hued highlighter that adds a lovely glow to the cheekbones and can also be used as an eyeshadow which I’ve got to try! It has an incredibly smooth and buttery texture, it’s just bloody beautiful and every time I reach for it, I end up staring at it in all it’s glory. You all need this in your life. Seriously.
The Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil is another product that helps you achieve a luminous glow. This multi usage oil can be used on the hair, face and body. I currently use it as part of my morning skincare routine as it’s light and non-greasy so it is the perfect facial oil for the day and leaves my skin feeling velvety soft. The only downside to this is the packaging. Whilst it does look luxurious, I’m absolutely terrified that clumsy me will end up smashing it. Here’s hoping that does not happen!
A re purchase this month was the Lush BIG Sea Salt shampoo aka the best shampoo to ever exist. I seriously love this little pot of goodness and so does my hair. Made with coarse sea salt and seaweed this shampoo lifts the hair, adds body and softens it too. BIG makes my hair feel squeaky clean like no other and I can go longer without washing my hair too. I’ve never loved a shampoo as much as I love this!
For Christmas, I received two sets of Soap & Glory products. One featured a range of Sugar Crush products aka my favourite scent ever. In there was a Sugar Crush Body Buttercream which is brilliant and super moisturising, I’ve used this so much it’s nearly empty!
Mascara wise I’ve been loving a combo this month. Benefit’s new They’re Real Tinted Lash Primer along with Clinique’s High Impact Mascara. I won’t go into too much detail on this as a full review will be coming soon but these two products compliment each other so well and they’re great worn alone too!
My favourite lip product that I’ve been wearing a lot this month is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan which I picked up at the Clothes Show in December. I absolutely love the formula of these lip creams, they go on quite creamy and then dry to matte in a couple of seconds and are super comfortable to wear. I need to pick up some more of these!
Lastly, we have possibly the prettiest eyeshadow out there or one of them, anyway. The Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pink Gold is just beautiful. Super pigmented, long lasting and blends like a dream!
