The Liquid Lipstick Edit

Liquid lipsticks are my favourite formula of lipstick to wear. Usually they are comfortable on the lips, creamy, buildable, long lasting and just look bloody beautiful, especially matte liquid lipsticks which are just my weakness. In today’s post, I’ve rounded up the liquid lipsticks in my collection to share my thoughts on them with you all.

The Liquid Lipstick Edit

(L-R) Cynthia Rowley: Poppy, Mirenesse: New York, Apocolips: Meteoric, Apocolips: Aurora, Makeup Revolution: Move Your Mouth Forever, Sweet Boy With A Big Mouth, NYX: Milan, Addis Ababa, Makeup Revolution: Say Yes It’s What We Do Best

The liquid lipsticks that have completely stolen my heart and I just can’t stop reaching for are the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. I currently have Milan & Addis Ababa. Both incredible, gorgeous shades. Milan is my favourite, a nice mauvy pink and Addis Ababa is a quite a bold pink, it’s super pretty! These go on creamy then dry to matte in a few seconds. I find them to be extremely comfortable to wear, long lasting too. I’ll definitely be picking up some more of these!

Whilst rummaging through my stash, I came across the Rimmel Apocalips, a favourite I completely forgot about but so glad I rediscovered! I have one of each from the range – a Lip Velvet in Meteoric Matte and a Lip Lacquer in Aurora. The lip velvet is probably my favourite and not just because it’s matte! The shade is perfect for this time of year so now I’ve rediscovered it, I’m sure I’ll be wearing it a lot. I’d describe Meteoric Matte as a reddish berry shade and Aurora a coral red. The Lip Velvet definitely feels like velvet on the lips, it’s lovely and super comfortable whereas the Lip Lacquer has a more glossy finish.

The Makeup Revolution Ultra Velour Lip Creams are another rediscovery, especially the shades featured. Reviewed here, Not One For Playing Games was my favourite but sadly, I’ve misplaced it. I’ve not worn Say Yes It’s What We Do Best, Sweet Boy With A Big Mouth and Move Your Mouth Forever as much but now I’ve rediscovered them, I’ll hopefully get more wear out of them. Say Yes, It’s What We Do Best (longest name ever?!) I’d describe as a cherry red, Sweet Boy With A Big Mouth a very bright bubblegum pink which doesn’t suit me much and Move Your Mouth Forever a great, everyday nude. These are a complete steal at £3.

The last two are both samples from Cynthia Rowley and Mirenesse. The Creamy Lip Stain in Poppy by Cynthia Rowley is a stunning orangey-red, I’ll be wearing this a lot once it gets a bit warmer! Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rogue in New York is a gorgeous bold red, it has such intense pigmentation and looks beautiful on the lips. Definitely one of my favourite reds!

Do you wear liquid lipsticks? Which are your favourites?
