Since this coming Sunday officially marks the start of Spring (hooray!), I thought I would put together a post featuring my favourite spring nail picks. I wouldn’t consider myself a huge nail polish fan and you’d probably think differently if you saw my collection of nail polishes, I own far too many for someone who doesn’t paint her nails regularly. The reason being is that I’m absolutely terrible at nail painting, a complete fail most of the time so therefore I rarely bother but once Spring comes around, I’m much more likely to be seen without bare nails as I find lighter shades so much easier to work with..
If you love to wear pastel shades in the Spring then I would recommend you try Barry M’s range of pastel shades. In my opinion, they are the best on the market and are reasonably priced. As you can see, I own a fair few from both the Speedy Quick Dry and Original Nail Paint ranges. The Speedy Quick Dry polishes are incredible for those of us who are inpatient or make a mess when painting our nails as smudging is less likely due to the fact these dry in literally seconds and they have a new and improved wider brush which makes application more precise and quicker, most of the time I manage to achieve a mistake free nail. The Speedy Quick Dry shades are: Eat My Dust (pale blue), In A Heartbeat (coral pink) and Lap of Honour (lilac) and the Original shades are: Mint Green & Blue Moon.
This next shade may not be to everyones taste. The Models Own My Midori shade is an intense in your face neon green, it’s not a shade I would choose to wear (I won it & forgot about it until now!) however I’m sure to some people this is a great Spring shade. Unfortunately this is no longer available as it was Limited Edition however Toxic Apple is very similar if you like the look of this. If you like your nail polish bright and bold, The Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Round & Round in Circles is the perfect yellow shade.
I adore the Soigne Nail Lacquer in Fruit De La Passion, a gorgeous peach shade and part of their Macaron collection.. mm, I could eat a macaron right now. I have a feeling I’m going to be wearing this shade a lot this Spring, it’s so beautiful. Another polish I expect to get a lot of wear out of this Spring is the Ciate Paint Pot in Dolls House which has to be the prettiest nail polish I’ve ever set eyes on. It’s quite hard to see on the colour wheel but this shade is a very pale pink with specks of glitter, I would describe it as the perfect girly girl shade and it would be a great choice if you are attending a Spring wedding or even if you’re getting married yourself!
Lastly, if you like to stick with your reds and pinks in the Spring time rather than going with brights or pastels, both the Essence The Gel Nail Polish in Va Va Voom & The Lola Barcelona Nail Polish in Gracias are great choices. Va Va Voom is a gorgeous coral red, it’s matte, absolutely stunning and is under £2. Gracias is your typical glossy fuchsia shade, however, this polish is formulated with diamond dust making it extra strong and long lasting.
