One of my favourite things about Spring is the switch in my make up. It’s time to put away the heavier bases and darker lipsticks and opt for more of a lighter base and my most loved pink, orange and nude lippies. I own a lot of lip products that are great for the warmer months however today I’ve picked just 6 to share with you.
I’ll start with the MAC lipsticks and in my collection, the perfect Spring lipsticks are Brave and Vegas Volt. Both very different from each other, Brave is a gorgeous pink beige shade and ever since I bought it a few weeks back, I’ve been wearing it pretty much every day. I’m addicted to this lipstick! Not only is it perfect for Spring but it’s a great shade for wear all year round. You can read a review on it here.
I’m obsessed with coral lipsticks and Vegas Volt is one of my favourites (I own far too many!) Vegas Volt is an Amplified Creme formula and is what MAC describe as a ‘Full power Coral’ and I would have to agree. It’s a gorgeous rich orange based coral that would probably work best on darker skin tones however it looks great on us pale girls too. Amplified Creme lipsticks have the comfiness of a Cremesheen lippie combined with the bold, high pigmentation of an Amplified lipstick. The best of both. Comfortable but packs a punch.
Another coral favourite is In With Coral from Maybelline’s Color Drama range. I’ve raved about this lip pencil a lot here on the blog! Compared to Vegas Volt, this is more of a cool pink based coral rather than orange and it’s ruddy beautiful. Matte but incredibly comfortable, creamy and glides onto the lips so easily. Completely in love with this one!
In my teens, I loved lip gloss. It was all I’d wear on my lips but these days, I’m not so keen. Especially when they are horrendously gloopy and sticky. The NYX Butter Glosses are the complete opposite. Not sticky in the slightest, comfortable and moisturising with gorgeous colour! I have the shade Sugar Cookie which is a bright fuchsia shade and for a lip gloss is seriously pigmented. I need more of these.
The Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Sweet Pop has got to be my favourite pink lipstick in my collection. A great every day shade that you can just pop on in one swipe for vibrant colour that lasts reasonably well for a creamy formula and keeps your lips feeling nourished for hours thanks to it’s shea butter ingredient.
Lastly, it’s my new favourite lip pencil from Rimmel. The Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses lip liner in Indian Pink is a stunning rich, vibrant Fuchsia and looks lovely on it’s own. This liner isn’t the most easiest to apply but once it’s on, it’s on for hours whilst keeping your lips moisturised and comfy.
