When it comes to drugstore foundations, I always head to the L’Oreal stand first. In the past year alone, I’ve used three different L’Oreal foundations and loved them all. Today, I rotate between two, Infallible 24H and the Nude Magique Cushion Foundation and I rarely opt for any other brand.
The formulas, the shade range and lasting capability. L’Oreal, in my eyes, have the best shade range in the drugstore. Being quite pale, it can often be a struggle to find the perfect shade for my skin, the lightest available can wash me out but the next could be too dark and so on.
The Infallible 24H Foundation is the newest in my make up collection. I bought it for the winter months as I needed a foundation with more coverage and this is perfect. I opted for the shade 120 Vanilla as I had already swatched 015 Porcelain a few months earlier and deemed it too bright, I was afraid it could wash me out. Vanilla, with its yellow undertones, is a perfect match. This foundation is said to offer 24 hours of flawless skin with a just applied look but then again, I know nobody who wears foundation for 24 hours! However, it does have great lasting power and I would say a primer is not necessary.
Infallible 24H is a full coverage foundation and is great for dry skin as it contains a Hydrating Hyaluron Complex formula keeping it looking and feeling fresh without clinging to those pesky dry patches. It’s really comfortable to wear and it does look flawless on the skin! Which, as you may know is hard to achieve when your skin is super dry.
In the summer, I bought the Nude Magique Cushion Foundation. A totally new concept to me having never used anything other than bottled foundation! And I love it. I find it has a very light, sheer coverage with a dewy natural finish. It’s great for when you need something that is quick and easy to apply, you just dab your sponge/brush and blend. My only grudge is it’s lasting power, it’s not the best but I guess that’s to be expected from a sheer foundation. I picked up 01 Porcelain but I do wonder if, like Infallible 24H, Vanilla would be a better match. I’ll have to pick it up and give it a try.
Nonetheless, a great foundation for drier skin types but I don’t think I’d recommend it for oily skin!
Do you use L’Oreal foundations? If so, which is your favourite?
