Best in Beauty 2017: Makeup

OK, it may be nearing the end of January but I still wanted to share with you my best-loved beauty products of 2017! Today, I’m sharing all my favourite makeup discoveries of 2017 and in a couple of days, I’ll share all the skincare products that I loved last year. So without further ado, here’s my 2017 makeup favourites!

Funnily enough, I realised whilst photographing this post that last year, I (surprisingly) cut down massively on my beauty purchases. I still bought a lot more than I need, of course, but compared to 2016, it was significantly less!

My favourite discovery has to be the Tarte Shape Tape concealer, a product I don’t think I could live without now. If you’re interested, you can read my review here where I go into more detail. This concealer quickly became a holy grail product, no other concealer compares when it comes to coverage and longevity.

Who didn’t fall in love with The Ordinary last year? I can guarantee every blogger owns at least one product from this affordable brand. They’ll be featured heavily in my skincare favourites but I couldn’t not include their Coverage foundation in this post. I reach for this foundation most days as it literally makes my skin look flawless! It’s incredibly cheap at £5.90 and really delivers the goods. It’s no surprise there was a huge waiting list when it was first released.

Tanya Burr’s range of cosmetics was a firm favourite last year too. I’ve tried a few bits but the eyeshadow palettes are incredible. I have three and if I had to pick, the My Paradise one has to be my favourite. All four shades are wearable and look completely stunning. The only downside is I don’t want to ruin the cute pineapple imprints! I also adore the Chasing The Sun Illuminator in Peonies Please. I still can’t get over the pigmentation of this! It’s really impressive, I have to be so careful applying it.

With my dry skin, I tend to avoid powders but I’d heard a lot about Bourjois’ Java Rice Powder and how it was amazing even on dry skin so I had to try it and it is gorgeous! I don’t use it a lot as I’m still a little hesitant, I don’t know why though as it makes my skin look great and gives it a lovely glow. I’m certainly going to be using it more in 2018.

Now onto the lips.. and my overall favourite has got to be the L’Oreal Matte Lip Paints, I adore these! I’ve got the shades Babe In and Off White – both are very similar pinky nudes and completely comfortable to wear.

It’s no surprise if you’ve been reading my blog for a while that I’m featuring the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams… they’re not even a 2017 discovery but they had to be included. I will never not love these! If you’re still yet to try one, what are you waiting for? Hurry up! You’re missing out!!

Last but not least is the gorgeous Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Perla. I have two other shades but I rarely wear them, however, Perla is so so beautiful. It’s a pretty dusty rose shade and I’m obsessed.

Have you tried any of these products? What was your favourite makeup discovery of 2017?
