Sephora Mini Haul

Hey everyone! Long time no blog post. I’ve missed blogging so much, I’m glad to be back. So, where have I been? Well, in October, I started my degree at The Open University! And although it’s only part-time, it does take up a huge amount of my time, especially when the dreaded assignments are due. But I’m hopefully back to posting regularly…

Last month, my Mum took me on holiday to Tenerife for a much-needed break (it was my Christmas present too!). I was over the moon when I found out there was a Sephora in Tenerife, so I planned a whole day out in Santa Cruz just so I had the opportunity to go and do a little first time Sephora shopping.🙊

If you’re ever in Tenerife and want to visit, you’ll find it on the first floor at the ‘El Corte Ingles’ department store in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and better yet, it’s right opposite the bus station which has buses to and from literally anywhere on the island. The only disappointing thing is that the Sephora in the department store is basically just a concession, so it’s a very limited range of products so a trip to an American Sephora is still a must!

OK, I’ll stop rambling on now and show you what I picked up…

Ah, the number of times I’ve sat down to write this post and then forgotten about it and had to re-take photos for it as I’ve added to the list of recent purchases (although I forgot to include two this time around, doh!). Well, today, I’m knuckling down, I’m finally sat at my desk and determined to get this post written for good. I always think I spend far too much money on beauty but considering all products featured in this post have been bought over a 2 to 3 month period, I’m not doing so bad lately. So, what have I bought?

Recent Beauty Purchases.
Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation |
I’ve already gone into more detail about this foundation in this post. So, I’ll keep it short and sweet here. I’m really liking this foundation at the moment! My only gripe is the shade is perhaps a little too dark but it’s still wearable, thankfully. If you’re looking for a cushion foundation on a budget that provides a medium-ish coverage, give this a try.

L’Oreal Infallible Nudist Matte Lip Paints in 208 Off White and 211 Babe In |
My go-to lip products at the moment are these nude matte lip paints from L’Oreal. Not only do they smell soooo good but they are lovely to wear and although they are matte, they’re really really comfortable! 208 Off White is my favourite shade, it’s quite a pale pinky nude and I was certain it’d be too light for me but it’s actually perfect. 211 Babe In is really nice too, it’s a slightly warmer nude. I want to try more of the Nudist shades and the red matte lip paints too.

L’Oreal Miss Baby Roll Mascara |
I was having a snoop around Boots a while back and came across two new L’Oreal mascaras. The Baby Roll and the Paradise.. I was umming and ahhing for a while over which one to get even though I didn’t really need a new mascara at the time. Everyone seems to be raving about the Paradise mascara right now and I’m not seeing much about the Baby Roll. But. I recommend everyone tries this! I love it! The Mega Curl Roller Brush instantly lifts my lashes and makes them look more volumised and curled, it’s also long lasting which for me is always good as my lashes usually fall flat very quickly! There’s only one mascara I would opt for over it right now and it’s the…

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Lift Mascara |
Don’t get me wrong, I love the Miss Baby Roll but this just ever so slightly beats it. I always forget how good Maybelline mascaras are and I honestly think they are pretty much the best on the high street. This does exactly as the name would suggest – lifting and volumising my lashes and really making my eyes pop!

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Strobe Highlighter in Moon Glow Lights |
It’s been well over a year since I’ve bought anything from Makeup Revolution but when I came across this highlighter in Superdrug a few weeks ago, I had to pick it up. It looks so beautiful in the pan but unfortunately, on my skin, it really doesn’t do anything. I like my highlighters to give my cheekbones a nice sheen but this just looks quite dull and doesn’t really ‘highlight’ as such. I might try applying this wet and see if it makes a difference. Fingers crossed as I had high hopes for this!

Tanya Burr My Paradise Eyeshadow Palette |
I already own two palettes from Tanya Burr’s range of cosmetics (Read my full review on them here.) and when I saw the My Paradise palette on Instagram a while ago, I fell in love. And I’m not gonna lie, it was mainly due to the cute, pineapple imprints. I haven’t used this yet but I should imagine the shades are just lovely and pigmented as the other two. Inspired by rose gold sunsets, there are 4 shades in this palette – Champagne Cocktail, Tranquility, Miami Sunrise and Hammock.

Tanya Burr Chasing The Sun Peonies Please Illuminating Powder |
This illuminating powder is a must have for anyone who loves a serious rosy glow. I can’t get over how pigmented this powder is, I’ll admit when I first applied it, I ended up looking a little OTT but I soon learnt, a light hand is a must with this! Due to my pale skin, I use this a blush which in turn also creates a gorgeous highlight on the cheekbones too. Just look at it! 😍

Botanics All Bright Radiance Concentrate Serum |
I actually forgot to include this and the next product in these photos but I thought I’d mention them anyway. I’ve always loved the serums from Botanics, not only are they cheap but they work well too! Botanics have recently changed their packaging, which I adore. It looked quite cheap and plain before but now they are definitely a lot more flatlay and Insta friendly! It’s all about the aesthetics right?! I’ve been using this serum every day since I got it and my skin does look brighter. It contains AHAs from hibiscus plants and a blend of active botanicals to improve texture and tone. And it’s certainly done that!

Zoella Gelato Body Pudding |
When the new Zoella beauty range was released, I had to try something and the Gelato body pudding sounded gorgeous. Not only do I love the packaging but the cream itself looks so nice, it contains little pink beads that look like sprinkles. Like, it looks so good, I could actually eat it if it wasn’t a product for the body! Hehe. Anyway, this is an absolute dream to apply, literally heaven! It sinks into the skin within a matter of minutes leaving it feeling really soft and smooth. Enriched with Elderflower and Pomegranate, it’s no surprise that it smells delicious too!

Have you tried any of these?

The Must Have Scents For Summer.

When I was a teenager, So…? Fragrances were the go to brand for scents. I remember being obsessed with the Kiss Me body spray. Anyone else? I feel like every girl probably was at some point. Fast forward 10 or so years (omg, I’m old), So…? have made a bit of a comeback with their lovely range of Body Mists that come in various, gorgeous fragrances that have quickly become my go to scents this summer.

Over the past couple of months, my Instagram feed has been jam packed with stunning flat lays featuring these mists. The first thing that caught my eye was the pretty, fun, summery packaging and eventually, I couldn’t resist so I ended up heading to Superdrug to pick a few up. I currently have 4 scents –

White Petals – My absolute favourite, I adore floral scents. This mist contains delicate notes of bergamot, freesia and water lily. It’s pretty dreamy!

Vanilla Milkshake – I find this the perfect summer scent! It smells exactly like Vanilla milk shake, yummy! It features notes of sweet vanilla and a mix of peach and plum.

Floriental – Again, I love my floral scents so this was a must have. This mist features a fruity mix of pear, apple and mandarin and also, freesia and violet.

Fruity – A gorgeous fresh scent featuring zingy notes of mandarin and a blend of peachy notes.

What I love most about these is how handy they are. You can pop one in your handbag for touch ups throughout the day to make sure you continue to smell gorgeous or if you’re headed to a festival soon they’re the perfect fragrances to pack and therefore you won’t have to worry about losing your favourite, expensive perfume! These body mists are available in 14 different scents and they are currently half price at Boots. Buy here.

Naturelle Cosmetics Royal Coffee Scrub

Naturelle Cosmetics are a natural, family-owned cosmetics brand who strive to bring us the purest products from certified organic farms across Europe. A couple of weeks ago, they kindly sent me their Royal Coffee Body Scrub in Cinnamon Vanilla* to try.

I adore coffee and I can’t start my day without a cup (or two..) and I can’t get enough of the smell either, why does it smell so good!? Anyway, I’ve read a lot about the benefits of using a coffee scrub from being a fab cellulite banisher to leaving the skin silky smooth and so, I couldn’t wait to give it a whirl.

The Royal Coffee Scrub contains a number of different organic, natural ingredients from the seed powder of Arabica coffee to avocado and jojoba oil and comes in many different scents, I was sent Cinnamon Vanilla which as you can imagine, smells amazing!

The coffee scrubs contain a lot of benefits for your skin and I have certainly seen a difference since I started using it. Dry rough areas such as the knees and ankles are less scaly and much smoother and my skin looks a lot brighter and less dull. I use this whilst showering (I obviously turn it off first!) and apply in circular motions for a minute or two then I rinse it off which leaves me with super soft skin!

I can say that this is really messy. So, you have to give your shower a good rinse afterwards, it gets everywhere! You also have to make sure you’ve rinsed it off yourself properly too as it’s quite easy to miss parts! But other than that, it’s a great scrub that delivers all the goods and has quickly become a vital part of my showering routine.

You can buy it here for £9.95.

Have you ever used a coffee scrub?

Lush Haul; Valentine's Day Collection & More

When I first laid eyes on Lush’s Valentine’s Day collection, I just knew I needed to make an order. I got a little click happy and just chose all the things I would’ve liked and ended up with nearly £70 worth of goodies arriving at my door, but I have no regrets as it’s been a while since I treated myself to a large haul. Without further ado, here’s what I got including some non Valentine’s Day collection products..

Lush Haul; Valentine's Day Collection & More

The Comforter Bubble Bar |
This is my only repurchase in this haul, I had The Comforter before and I loved it but silly me didn’t realise I could break pieces off and ended up using the whole thing in one bath, oh dear. I was a Lush newbie back then, ok?! I’ve since learnt my lesson and I now know a lot of Lush products you can use a few times rather than in one go! The Comforter is made with some amazing ingredients such as Bergamot Oil and Cypress Oil which makes for a really relaxing bubble bath that leaves your skin baby soft after! Also pink bath water, what’s not to love?! This is also available in a shower cream which I’ve gotta try.

Rose Jam Bubbleroon |
I first saw this beauty over on Sophie’s blog ages ago and I finally got round to buying it. It’s so pretty and glittery, I almost don’t want to use it! Again, another bubble bar that turns your bath pink, I can’t wait to give it a try. It’s said to ‘pep up your spirits’ to leave your mind clear and boost your mood, sounds like a nice treat after a long, stressful day. It contains some lovely ingredients too such as Rose oil, lemon oil and shea butter.

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar |
I’ve seen this amazing bubble bar everywhere in the past two years that I’ve been blogging and I always forget to buy it! I wouldn’t say I’m someone who is totally addicted to unicorn things (although I’m not gonna lie there are some really pretty unicorn themed items around!) but I love the look of this bubble bar. I watched a demo on Youtube and it looks like it creates an insane amount of bubbles. Ingredients include ylang ylang, lavender and neroli.

Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb |
Is this not the prettiest bath bomb you’ve ever seen? Based on a medieval love potion, it features real rosebuds and is scented with an alluring combo of floral orris root powder, rose and lemon. I can imagine this must just create the loveliest, relaxing bath.. here’s hoping anyway!

Lovestruck Bubble Bar |
The one item from the Valentine’s Day collection I knew I needed! The Heart Eyes emoji is one of my most used emojis and when I saw this I just had to have it. Ingredients include Sicilian lemon oil to cleanse, Geranium oil to tone and Petitgrain Oil to refresh. It’s got a lovely citrus scent too.

Prince Charming Shower Cream |
After disliking Snow Fairy’s overpowering sickly sweet scent (unpopular opinion, I know!), I decided to try out another Lush shower cream – this time I chose Prince Charming. It contains Sweet marshmallow root and Vanilla pod infusion and it’s scent is sweet but not as intense as Snow Fairy. It also contains cocoa butter and fresh pomegranate juice to leave skin soft and refreshed.

Cup O’ Coffee Face and Body Mask |
Oh my god, I love the smell of this. Anything that smells of coffee is a winner. I love drinking coffee but I also love the scent so this was a must buy. I’ve not tried it yet but it sounds incredible! It features roasted cocoa extract, vetivert and coriander oil. I feel like this would be a good mask to use in the mornings, if you have time. I get the feeling it would be refreshing and awakening, just like your morning cup of coffee.

Tea Tree Toner Water |
This toner contains tea tree water that is antibacterial, antifungal and antimicrobial which is great for spot prone skin. I wouldn’t say my skin suffers with spots that much but I do like to keep it to a minimum so prevention is key therefore I need products like these in my routine. As it’s a spray, I find it really refreshing which makes a change from my regular toner where I apply with a cotton pad which you can also do with this, if you prefer.

Roots Scalp Treatment |
I have always dreamt of having voluminous hair but I’m stuck with flat, fine and dull looking hair so I’m always looking for products to change that. I also have a really dry, itchy scalp so Roots sounded like something I needed to try. It contains mint to stimulate the scalp and hair follicles and extra virgin olive oil, nettle and honey to condition and strengthen the hair. The only downside is that it contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a known ingredient to irritate the scalp causing it to flake so I’m not really sure how this is going to work. I’ve switched to an SLS free shampoo because of my dry scalp so I kind of want to avoid any other SLS products. I might give this a try once a month and see how it goes.

The Kiss Lip Scrub |
I love Lush lip scrubs, more so the Bubblegum one because it smells and tastes sooo good! The Kiss is once again a gorgeous lip scrub with a beautiful scent however the taste isn’t so good. It’s rather disgusting. Now I love salt but wow this was way too salty. However as all Lush lip scrubs go, it’s very good at exfoliating and leaving your lips prepped. The cutest thing about this scrub is the little hearts on top, though they don’t last long!
