Last Saturday, I attended The Clothes Show at the NEC in Birmingham. The Clothes Show is described as ‘Britain’s Fashion Festival’ and runs every December for 5 days. The Clothes Show is absolutely massive and you definitely need to dedicate a whole day to see it all. There are hundreds of exhibits from major beauty brands like Rimmel, Barry M, NYX and Models Own as well as many well known fashion brands and independent ones too. You also have the chance to experience a catwalk show in the Fashion Theatre which was amazing! I did a little bit of shopping whilst I was there, it may be called the Clothes Show but I didn’t actually buy any clothes! Oops. Here’s what I picked up!
THE CLOTHES SHOW GOODY BAG |
As a Platinum ticket holder, a Clothes Show goody bag is also included. I have to say I’m not that impressed with this and all the feminine hygiene products featured in it such as Femfresh, pH Balanced Feminine Wipes and Sanitary Towels from Bodyform – OK, I will probably use them but it’s not something you really expect to get in a goody bag. Other things included were a bar of Bailey’s Chocolate Delight, A Cadburys Hot Chocolate Satchet, Teisseire Gourmet Drops, A Limited Edition J.W Anderson Diet Coke, Popband Hair Tie, Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Sample Satchets, A teeny tiny Maya Confident Styling & Curling Creme and the best thing? A Burts Bees lipgloss .. If theres one thing The Clothes Show need to improve on, it’s definitely their goody bags!
RIMMEL GOODY BAG | £10 | WORTH £30
Rimmel had one of the best goody bags on offer – 6 products worth £30 for only £10 so I was definitely not going to leave the show without one of these! They had 3 goody bags to choose from, I chose ‘Disco Diva’ as the products seemed better than those in the other two. In the goody bag was the new 24HR Supercurler Mascara, A 8ml sample of the BB Cream Matte, Sunshimmer Instant Tan, The Limited Edition Red Nose Comic Relief Lipstick, Glitter Bomb Nail Polish in Bedazzle, Glam Eyes Eyeshadow Quad in Smokey Brun and two sample satchets of Lasting Finish Primer and Lasting Finish Foundation.
The NYX stand was the one I wanted to get to most as I was yet to try anything from them and it seemed like everyone else had the same idea! It was rammed the entire day with a huge queue to even get to the product stands so in the end I only picked up 3 lip products – 2 Soft Matte Lip Creams in Milan and Addis Ababa and a Butter Gloss in Sugar Cookie. These are so good, I’ll definitely be getting more!
Overall I had a great day at the Clothes Show, I just wish I had a little bit more money to spend! I’m definitely considering going next year. I do recommend if you’re planning on going to save up and plan to stay the whole day so you get to experience it all!
