Lush Haul; Valentine's Day Collection & More

When I first laid eyes on Lush’s Valentine’s Day collection, I just knew I needed to make an order. I got a little click happy and just chose all the things I would’ve liked and ended up with nearly £70 worth of goodies arriving at my door, but I have no regrets as it’s been a while since I treated myself to a large haul. Without further ado, here’s what I got including some non Valentine’s Day collection products..

Lush Haul; Valentine's Day Collection & More

The Comforter Bubble Bar |
This is my only repurchase in this haul, I had The Comforter before and I loved it but silly me didn’t realise I could break pieces off and ended up using the whole thing in one bath, oh dear. I was a Lush newbie back then, ok?! I’ve since learnt my lesson and I now know a lot of Lush products you can use a few times rather than in one go! The Comforter is made with some amazing ingredients such as Bergamot Oil and Cypress Oil which makes for a really relaxing bubble bath that leaves your skin baby soft after! Also pink bath water, what’s not to love?! This is also available in a shower cream which I’ve gotta try.

Rose Jam Bubbleroon |
I first saw this beauty over on Sophie’s blog ages ago and I finally got round to buying it. It’s so pretty and glittery, I almost don’t want to use it! Again, another bubble bar that turns your bath pink, I can’t wait to give it a try. It’s said to ‘pep up your spirits’ to leave your mind clear and boost your mood, sounds like a nice treat after a long, stressful day. It contains some lovely ingredients too such as Rose oil, lemon oil and shea butter.

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar |
I’ve seen this amazing bubble bar everywhere in the past two years that I’ve been blogging and I always forget to buy it! I wouldn’t say I’m someone who is totally addicted to unicorn things (although I’m not gonna lie there are some really pretty unicorn themed items around!) but I love the look of this bubble bar. I watched a demo on Youtube and it looks like it creates an insane amount of bubbles. Ingredients include ylang ylang, lavender and neroli.

Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb |
Is this not the prettiest bath bomb you’ve ever seen? Based on a medieval love potion, it features real rosebuds and is scented with an alluring combo of floral orris root powder, rose and lemon. I can imagine this must just create the loveliest, relaxing bath.. here’s hoping anyway!

Lovestruck Bubble Bar |
The one item from the Valentine’s Day collection I knew I needed! The Heart Eyes emoji is one of my most used emojis and when I saw this I just had to have it. Ingredients include Sicilian lemon oil to cleanse, Geranium oil to tone and Petitgrain Oil to refresh. It’s got a lovely citrus scent too.

Prince Charming Shower Cream |
After disliking Snow Fairy’s overpowering sickly sweet scent (unpopular opinion, I know!), I decided to try out another Lush shower cream – this time I chose Prince Charming. It contains Sweet marshmallow root and Vanilla pod infusion and it’s scent is sweet but not as intense as Snow Fairy. It also contains cocoa butter and fresh pomegranate juice to leave skin soft and refreshed.

Cup O’ Coffee Face and Body Mask |
Oh my god, I love the smell of this. Anything that smells of coffee is a winner. I love drinking coffee but I also love the scent so this was a must buy. I’ve not tried it yet but it sounds incredible! It features roasted cocoa extract, vetivert and coriander oil. I feel like this would be a good mask to use in the mornings, if you have time. I get the feeling it would be refreshing and awakening, just like your morning cup of coffee.

Tea Tree Toner Water |
This toner contains tea tree water that is antibacterial, antifungal and antimicrobial which is great for spot prone skin. I wouldn’t say my skin suffers with spots that much but I do like to keep it to a minimum so prevention is key therefore I need products like these in my routine. As it’s a spray, I find it really refreshing which makes a change from my regular toner where I apply with a cotton pad which you can also do with this, if you prefer.

Roots Scalp Treatment |
I have always dreamt of having voluminous hair but I’m stuck with flat, fine and dull looking hair so I’m always looking for products to change that. I also have a really dry, itchy scalp so Roots sounded like something I needed to try. It contains mint to stimulate the scalp and hair follicles and extra virgin olive oil, nettle and honey to condition and strengthen the hair. The only downside is that it contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, a known ingredient to irritate the scalp causing it to flake so I’m not really sure how this is going to work. I’ve switched to an SLS free shampoo because of my dry scalp so I kind of want to avoid any other SLS products. I might give this a try once a month and see how it goes.

The Kiss Lip Scrub |
I love Lush lip scrubs, more so the Bubblegum one because it smells and tastes sooo good! The Kiss is once again a gorgeous lip scrub with a beautiful scent however the taste isn’t so good. It’s rather disgusting. Now I love salt but wow this was way too salty. However as all Lush lip scrubs go, it’s very good at exfoliating and leaving your lips prepped. The cutest thing about this scrub is the little hearts on top, though they don’t last long!

Product Empties #3

Back in November, I posted my second Product Empties post. 5 months on, I’m back with a third instalment featuring all the products I’ve used up recently. This time round, it’s very skincare heavy, I have finished loads of skincare in the past few weeks which has been a bit of a pain as I literally can’t afford to buy any new products due to my upcoming travels! But when I get back, a spree is gonna be happening!

Lush BIG Sea Salt Shampoo
Seriously the best shampoo I’ve ever used! I’ve never raved about a shampoo like I have this one. I have uber greasy hair and I could never go a day without washing it until I used this, I can now go around 2-3 days which is something I had been dying to achieve for ages and nothing would work so I really adore this shampoo and as you can see I’ve recently finished two tubs! It gives great volume too and smells incredible!

Rituals Yogi Flow Shower Foam
I received this shower foam in a beauty box a while back and finished it quite a while ago too, it’s been sitting in my empties box for some time! From what I can remember, I loved the smell of this product, the Sweet Almond Oil & Indian Rose scent is gorgeous however Rituals suggest this turns to foam on contact with water.. Not true! It came out of the bottle as a foam and it would be quite difficult to dispense especially near the end, that is the only downside though! This left my skin feeling lovely.

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel
Pretty much everyone’s favourite Lush shower gel… but not mine. I had this for ages and never used it as I just have so many shower gels lying around my bathroom, it’s a bit silly how many I have really! I started using it recently and I have to say I don’t find anything particularly special about it – it’s average and I do find the scent a little overwhelmingly sweet. I loved it when I had a sniff in store but for some reason when I was using it, I didn’t really like it. I probably won’t be purchasing this next Christmas..

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish
I feel like I’ve mentioned this cleanser so much here on the blog but it is my favourite cleanser so that’s no surprise! I was so upset when I finished this up! I’ll definitely be re-purchasing this, it removes makeup so well and leaves my skin feeling amazing. There’s a full review on this popular cleanser here.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O
Another fabulous product for makeup removal! I really love this micellar water and having tried Garnier’s version too, I have to say I prefer Bioderma’s offering much more as the Garnier one can sometimes leave my skin a little irritated. I’ll be buying another bottle of this very soon!

Elemis Hydra Balance Day Cream
I love Elemis products but because they are so pricey, I have to rely on beauty boxes & samples to try out their products. The Hydra Balance Day Cream is actually for combination skin but I found it worked well on my dry skin leaving it feeling hydrated, soft and supple. A great moisturiser!

Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm
This has to be the best lip balm I’ve used and I’ve used a lot. It’s rich, thick texture really helps smooth out and nourish dry, chapped lips keeping them moisturised for hours. This little pot lasted me around 2 months which is great considering I applied it about a million times a day. I need to buy another pot asap.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum
I have to say that Caudalie do the best serums. This is the second one from them that I’ve tried and I love it, the other was the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum which was incredible. The Vinosource Serum is ideal for dry skin as it’s super hydrating leaving skin soft and refreshed.

Codage Paris Eclat & Energy Serum
Another great serum comes from Codage Paris. If you have tired dull skin, it’s perfect for you. It banishes signs of fatigue brightening your complexion and leaves your skin feeling amazing. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive but if you can afford it, it’s well worth the splurge.

Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant
I much prefer liquid exfoliants over the usual scrubs as I have quite sensitive skin and scrubs can just be a bit too much and can cause some irritation. This exfoliant by Paula’s Choice has become one of my favourite skincare products as it really renews my skin improving my skin’s texture and appearance. If I ever have a breakout, this helps reduce the redness and clears my skin in no time at all. It’s also great at minimising the blackheads on my nose. A definite re purchase for years to come!

Have you tried any of these products?

February Favourites

Here we are again, another monthly favourites post! I feel like February flew by even with the extra day. But hurrah, March is here so thankfully Winter is now behind us and hopefully the warmer weather will arrive soon? We can hope! It also means one month until my trip to Amsterdam so I’m excited about that! Anyway, this month’s favourites are a little varied. It includes a rediscovery, a christmas present and the most stunning make up brushes ever..

February Favourites

When it comes to hair products, I’ve been always been a bit sceptical. I rarely ever buy them, most of them are samples I’ve received. This is because I find they never do anything, nothing ever changes, my hair always looks and feels the same. I’ve always thought of them as a fad. That is until I tried the Shine Spray from Label.M aka a product that actually works! This spray really transforms dull hair with it’s blend of bamboo, fig, echinacea and juniper. It also protects hair from the affects of hair styling and the sun’s UV rays. The result is gorgeous, glossy hair with a lovely shine.

A re discovery this month comes from Sleek and it’s their amazing Face Contour Kit in Light. I can’t believe I forgot I owned this. I’m not big on contouring but I’ve decided to give it another go and I don’t think I’d ever use anything else. It includes a silky matte contour powder that blends like a dream and a stunning illuminating highlighter to add a natural glow. The shades are the perfect match for pale skin!

In this month’s Birchbox, they gave us the chance to try out a product from their new in house beauty line, LOC. The LOC One & Done Shadow Stick in Champagne Problems is stunning and I’ve been wearing it a lot this month as it just makes life so much easier, just one swipe and you’re done. No need to blend with brushes so if you’re in a rush, it’s perfect! It also lasts really well without primer.

Back in January, I managed to pick up the beautiful Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection Essentials Set on sale from £64 down to £25 which was an amazing bargain and I’m so glad I bought them. Not only are they beautiful, they work well too. My favourite has to be the 300 Tapered Blush brush which offers flawless application of blush and highlighter.

A skincare item I’ve been loving this month is the Codage Paris Eclat & Energie serum which I’ve been able to try thanks to the Look Fantastic Beauty Box.. this serum is incredible and has become an essential in my skincare routine. It’s specially formulated to banish fatigue and ageing in tired dull skin and it does exactly that, my skin looks so radiant after use. I just wish it wasn’t so pricey!

The last item is my gorgeous Pandora bracelet that I got from my best friend at Christmas. I just adore this so much, everything about it is so thoughtful. I love that Pandora charms signify something special such as the Paw charm for my three dogs and the best friend charm that was bought along with the bracelet. I can’t wait until I can add some more charms as it does look a little bare at the moment!

November Favourites
I can’t believe I’m on my second to last favourites post for 2015! Ok, I didn’t do my first favourites post until March but this year has gone so fast. I’m nearly 2 months away from my first blog birthday, crazy! Anyway, moving on.. I didn’t get round to sharing my favourites last month so this months post is a combination of things I loved in both October and November. These are all fairly new purchases and is quite make up heavy as I’ve been trying out a few new things these past few weeks.

November Favourites

November Favourites

If you read my recent H&M Beauty post then it probably comes as no surprise to you to see their gorgeous blushers in my favourites. Both Dusty Rose and Pink Coral are absolutely beautiful and great quality for such a reasonable price. Not only do I love the blushers themselves but I also really love the packaging. I can’t wait to buy some more!

I picked up the Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream perfume whilst on holiday and it’s the only perfume I’ve been wearing since which is crazy as I would usually reach for my all time favourite Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb perfume most days. I really love Daisy Dream, more so then the original Daisy. It’s lightweight and fresh with fragrance notes such as Grapefruit, Jasmine and Coconut Water.

My favourite shampoo at the moment is the Big Sea Salt shampoo from Lush.. actually, it’s probably my favourite ever. No other shampoo makes my hair feel as squeaky clean as this does! I also find when I wash my hair with this, I can go a few days more without washing then I can with any other shampoo. It adds a lot of volume and makes your hair smell like summer!

There’s two Benefit products I’ve been loving this month. Firstly, the gorgeous High Beam highlighter. It may be winter but I still love having a glow to my skin and this stuff is amazing! I’ll definitely be getting the full size when I run out. The other is a sample of the new Air Patrol. This is a BB Cream/Eyelid primer which contains SPF 20 to protect eyelids from the sun, pollutants and it also extends the wear of eyeshadow. This is probably the best eye primer I’ve used, I used it whilst on holiday, in almost 30 degree heat and my eyeshadow did not budge so I definitely recommend this!

Another product I picked up on holiday is the YSL Touche Eclat. A cult beauty product I’ve been wanting for ages and it definitely does not disappoint! I like to use this under the eye to brighten, on my cupids bow and down to the nose to give the illusion of a slimmer nose.

My last favourite this month is the W7 Power Puff sponge. I love my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge however it was getting a little worn and grubby so I was on the look out for another, I could of got a Beauty Blender however they are quite pricey so I opted for the Power Puff which is just over £4 and it’s just as good as the Real Techniques sponge! I particularly like using the pointy bit to apply my concealer to the under eye area as it just blends effortlessly.

Birchbox x Skinny Dip November Beauty Box

This month’s Birchbox is a collaboration with the quirky accessories brand, Skinny Dip. Skinny Dip are one of my favourite brands and I’ve owned many phone cases from them so when I heard Birchbox would be collaborating with them, I was quite excited! As always, this box contains 6 products ranging from skincare to make up and also this month for £4 extra you could ‘upgrade’ your box to include an exclusive Birchbox x Skinny Dip phone case worth £12 but as I’ve only recently bought a new one, I decided not to upgrade.

Birchbox x Skinny Dip November Beauty Box

A brand that has featured before is No.4 Lumiere d’Hiver. This time round it’s their Super Comb Prep & Protect in the box. This is a leave in conditioner spray that strengthens, repairs and detangles hair whilst also providing nourishment and protection.

Thanks to beauty boxes, I’ve been able to try out a lot of products from REN and they’ve quickly become a skincare favourite. The Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial is an overnight treatment that is said to leave skin brighter, luminous and refined. Ingredients include glycolic and lactic acids aswell as omega 3.

The only make up item this month is The Lord & Berry Silhouette Neutral Lip Liner which I was quite excited about. As a neutral lip liner this can, obviously, be used with any lipstick and lipgloss to prevent bleeding and achieve a precise lip. It’s innovative formula is also said to stimulate cell regeneration for a smoother, youthful look.

Next is the Acquaconfort Cream from Delarom. I was excited to receive this as a key ingredient is aloe vera. Something I fell in love with during my holiday, aloe vera was pretty much everywhere and in everything including my new favourite lip balm. This cream is light and refreshing with a delicate fragrance and as well as being enriched with aloe vera it also contains vitamin A, C, E and minerals to moisturise and jojoba butter to restore elasticity.

I say it every time I get to try a new hand cream.. ‘Will this live up to or be even better than Soap & Glory Hand Food?’ if you know me or have been reading this blog for some time, you’ll know that it’s a holy grail item of mine. This one by Cowshed may be just as good, I’m still trialling it but so far so good. The Cow Pat Moisturising Hand Cream is an oil based hand cream packed with shea and cocoa butters as well as lavender, grapefruit and cinnamon which provide a heavenly scent.

Lastly, we have a product that I find a bit odd to receive in a beauty box. The L.Erickson Grab & Go Ponytail Holder. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for getting a new hair tie as I’m forever losing them but in a beauty box?? It’s just a little strange. I would much rather another make up, skincare or haircare item. Saying that though, this is a good little hair tie as it’s sturdy and doesn’t snag.

If you’re not a subscriber of Birchbox yet but want to, you can join up via my referral link here. You’ll get this months box (if you subscribe before the 30th) and all upcoming boxes as well as 50 points (£5) and the chance to build up more points if you review the box each month, eventually you’ll have enough to have a little spree in the Birchbox shop as points do not expire for 365 days. Birchbox is £12.95 a month including postage.

What’s your favourite beauty box?
