Look Fantastic November Beauty Box
Look Fantastic November Beauty Box

This month I was pleased to see Look Fantastic had opted to keep the uber pretty gold box that I love! Unfortunately it looks like December’s box may be the last of this design.. here’s hoping they don’t go back to the plain black box in the new year! As always, this month’s box contains 6 products from a different range of brands including some that have featured previously like Bellapierre and Korres.

Look Fantastic November Beauty Box

The first product is a make up item – I’m so happy they finally included make up! It’s one thing I say every month, it’s so rare this box contains anything make up wise. This month it’s the Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in Ruby. This lipstick has a rich mineral formula designed to keep your lips hydrated and nourished throughout the day and it does exactly that. ‘Ruby’ is a gorgeous bright red so therefore perfect for the upcoming festive season.

A brand I’ve always wanted to try is Ole Henriksen, especially their popular Pure Truth Melting Cleanser. Unfortunately, this is not included this month however their Empower Foaming Milk Cleanser is. Since reading several articles and blog posts on foaming cleansers and how bad they are for your skin, I have stopped using them so was disappointed to see this included as it will most likely not be used.

I was pleased to see the Dr PawPaw Multipurpose Soothing Balm included in a box again. I received this in my first ever box and absolutely loved it! Unlike the one I had before, this is slightly tinted and can be used on the lips to moisturise and to achieve a natural glow on the cheeks.

A brand I have many samples from is Korres. Their Guava showergel is featured this month and I can’t wait to use it! It smells amazing. This showergel contains active aloe and is rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and antioxidant enzymes.

Next is the REN V-Cense Youth Vitality Day Cream. This is said to be a ‘intensely’ hydrating cream which sounds perfect for me and my dry skin. It works to boost your skin’s energy and elasticity and protect against damage and to smooth out any fine lines or wrinkles. I can’t wait to give this a go.

Lastly, we have the Kebelo Enriching Masque. A hair mask specifically designed for dry, damaged and unruly hair, it uses a blend of Argan and Grape oil to deep condition the hair and scalp without looking greasy. It is said to leave the hair feeling smooth, soft and manageable.

I have been buying the Look Fantastic beauty box for 9 months now and I’ve got far too many samples lying around waiting to be used so I actually wasn’t going to buy this months box until I realised I had clicked the ‘1 monthly payment of £15’ which is actually a monthly subscription. So because of this and having a huge amount of samples lying around, this is going to be the last box I buy for a while. Thankfully, this was a really good box to finish with!

This months box is still available here for £15.

Birchbox Stylist Guest Editor October Beauty Box

This month, Birchbox gave us the choice between two boxes with a different selection of products inside. Since I first subscribed back in March, this is the first time I’ve known what products I’ll be receiving in the box. I decided to choose the Stylist Guest Editor Box curated by Stylist Magazine Associate Beauty Editor, Joanna McGarry as the product choice seemed better than the Back to Basics Box. As always, this months box features 6 products from various brands..

The product I got majorly excited about was the teeny tiny Bioderma Sensibio H2O. When I read that they were including a small bottle of Bioderma, I didn’t think it would be THIS small. It literally fits in the palm of my hand and is just the cutest thing. Although I have a small 100ml version of Bioderma for my holiday, it’s only half full so I’ll be popping this in too incase I run out!

Another product received in perfect time is the When Travelmate Sheet Masks. These masks are said to work wonders to soothe skin damaged by dry air, wind, UV rays and fatigue. I’ll definitely be popping these in my suitcase!

A gorgeous lip product is featured this month and I’ve fallen in love! It’s the 100% Pure Fruit Pigment Lip Glaze. The shade I received is Sultry and I would best describe it as a nude brown. The formula of this lip glaze is creamy and keeps the lips hydrated, it also smells amazing as it is made with pigments from fruits like cherries and blackberries. The packaging is also stunning!

There was a perfume sample included this month, something I’m never too pleased about when included in a beauty box however it is a gorgeous perfume. It’s from the brand English Laundry and is their No.7 perfume. It’s very fruity and very much a summer scent so not really one for this time of year unless like me, you like wearing these kind of scents all year round.

I was so happy to see a Rituals product included in a Birchbox again after loving the Rituals Fortune Scrub I received in the August box. This time round it’s the Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel included which is a shower gel that foams on contact with water so theres no need to lather – this does it for you. It sounds fab and smells oh so good, I can’t wait to try it out!

The last product comes from Parlour by Jeff Chastain. This brand has been featured before with their Sea Salt Spray making an appearance in May’s box. This month it’s the Smoothing Blow Out Spray. This is said to add instant volume, shine and protect the hair from heat damage. I’ve only tried one blowout spray from Label.M before and I haven’t really been too impressed so I’m looking forward to seeing how this compares!

I definitely think I chose the right box this month. Looking at the Back to Basics Box, the products just don’t really appeal. I mean, toothpaste? No thanks. If you like the look of Birchbox and fancy subscribing you can do so here. It’s only £12.95 a month and you get 6 deluxe beauty samples delivered to your door in a gorgeous box every month. It’s really worth it, not just for the box but for the points system as well! Each month, if you review the products you receive you’ll build up points which eventually can be spent in the Birchbox shop, I currently have £30 worth and can’t wait to have a little spree soon.

Look Fantastic October Beauty Box
Look Fantastic October Beauty Box

First things first.. look at that box design! After last months box changed to celebrate the Look Fantastic Beauty Box 1st Birthday, I was hoping they wouldn’t go back to the basic black box this month and they did not let me down! This design is so much nicer then the original black box so I hope it is here to stay! The Look Fantastic October Beauty Box contains 7 products this month, mainly consisting of skincare products. Keep on reading to see what products were included this month..

Look Fantastic October Beauty Box

The first product that caught my eye was obviously the Look Good Feel Better Eye Shading Brush. Not just because it’s a brush and I really need more eye brushes but because there is a very good cause behind the Look Good Feel Better brand. Look Good Feel Better is the only worldwide cancer support charity that provide practical support for women who are struggling with the side effects of cancer and each sale of a Look Good Feel Better brush will have an 8%-12% donation made to the charity. It’s definitely worth considering these brushes next time you go to buy some – amazing quality and so soft!

Next is a product from one of my favourite skincare brands, Nuxe. Featured a fair few times in past boxes, this time round it’s the Reve De Miel Hand and Nail Cream making an appearance. This hand cream is said to be nourishing and protecting containing Chilean rose, avocado, acacia honey and sweet almond precious oils. I love my Soap & Glory Hand Food so I can’t wait to see how this compares!

Another skincare favourite is Elemis and I was so happy to see a product from them because as you probably know, they are a pretty pricey brand! The Hydra-Balance Day Cream is a daily moisturiser for normal to combination skin which I do not have however I will still use. It is meant to keep your complexion soft and supple around the clock and is enriched with meadowsweet extract and hyaluronic acid to lock in essential moisture.

Something I’ve used and loved before is the Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser. This is a really gentle exfoliating cleanser which works two ways by dissolving dead skin cells and renewing the skins texture. This cleanser contains salicylic, lactic and glycolic acids to clarify and brighten dull skin whilst Jojoba beads polish and re-texturise skin, sodium-PCA and jojoba seed oil counteract dryness whilst liquorice extract also provides anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties.

This box is definitely not short of skincare products! Another moisturiser in the box is from Monu and it’s their Firming Moisturiser. I really like Monu as a brand and their facial oil has become a staple in my routine. This moisturiser is used by professional therapists and contains only the purest ingredients such as marine collagen and is said to be deeply nourishing and protective as it contains UVA and UVB sunscreen.

The last skincare product comes from Balance Me. The Radiance Face Mask can be used two ways either as a revitalising exfoliating face wash or as a soothing, intensive treatment mask to restore lost moisture and luminosity. This face wash contains natural ingredients such as kaolin clay, palma rosa and lavender.

The only hair product this month is the Percy & Reed No Oil Oil. I actually received this a couple of months back in a Birchbox. Even though at the time, I really liked this product, I actually haven’t used it in a long time! But now that I have another bottle, I’ll definitely give it another go. The No Oil Oil nourishes and repairs hair creating smooth, sleek, silky locks whilst adding volume.

Overall this months box is really good however, I have the same gripe that I had last month – no make up! One product would be nice, so I’m hoping we’ll have one next month! If you like the look of this box you can buy it here for only £15 or you can choose a monthly payment plan.

What are your thoughts on this months Look Fantastic Box?

I’m probably the only person who is happy that September is over. I wouldn’t usually be however October is going to be an exciting month and in just under 2 weeks I’m jetting off to Fuerteventura for a week in the sun and as you can imagine, I can’t wait! This month’s favourites are a little different than usual as I haven’t really bought much in the way of beauty as I’ve been saving up for my holiday and buying bits to take with me too.

I’m not usually one to read books (bad, I know) however when I finally sit down with one, I can get caught up in it and end up reading for hours on end without even knowing the time is passing. The Girl On The Train is no exception, this book is filled with thrill, suspense, mystery and where I’m at right now I have no clue what is going on but I can’t wait to finish it to find out its conclusion!

Since repurchasing the Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub earlier this month, I’ve fallen back in love with it. It transforms my dry, sore and cracked lips into soft and supple lips, I absolutely love this stuff! It tastes pretty good too!

Recently I’ve been suffering with a huge amount of breakouts of unsightly and sore blemishes on my chin and jawline area. I have no idea what has been causing it but it’s been bothering me a fair bit so I’ve been trying all sorts to try and get rid. The Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant has worked an absolute charm, reducing the blemishes and scarring from past breakouts. A definite skincare staple, especially if you have sensitive skin and find exfoliating scrubs too harsh on the skin.

The Alterna Caviar CC Cream I received in my August Look Fantastic box has quickly become a haircare favourite. I use this after washing my hair and before drying to achieve shine, softness and manageability while also providing my hair with moisture, UV protection and strength. It’s a really lovely product!

Last but not least is the Cargo Cosmetics Northern Lights Eyeshadow Palette. I’ve fallen head over heels for this. All the shades are perfect for autumn/winter and are super pigmented with intense colour. You can read my full review here.

What have you been loving in September?
