A Lush Cosmetics Haul

In the past, I would of never considered myself that much of a Lush fan. Whilst I loved the few products I’d tried and that heavenly smell that hits you as you walk in store, for some reason I just wasn’t that taken by it. However, last weekend I took the opportunity to pop in store and that all changed. After spending nearly £30, I’m now considering ordering another load online (yes, already) and I’m dying to visit the Oxford St flagship store that looks absolutely incredible. So without further ado, here’s what I bought..

A Lush Cosmetics Haul

Starting off with a repurchase, this is an absolute favourite of mine. I decided to pick up the Bubblegum Lip Scrub because my original one had literally just gone out of date. Perfect timing! This lip scrub tastes so good you’ll want to eat the entire thing. I love that it’s completely safe to lick off your lips after using it to exfoliate them. I can suffer with really dry, chapped lips so this lip scrub is a lifesaver, I use this then apply a lip balm over the top for soft, supple lips.

A product that really intrigued me was the Big Sea Salt Shampoo. I have really flat, boring hair so I’m always looking for products that can give it a little more volume and bring it to life. I also think this would be a great shampoo to use in the lead up to and during my holiday to hopefully achieve stunning beachy hair, heres hoping!

When I first set eyes on the Twilight Bath Bomb, I knew I had to get it. I absolutely love the star and moon imprints and it’s lavender scent smells gorgeous. The only bath product from this haul I’ve used so far, this bath bomb starts to dissolve immediately. It starts off rather foamy, the colour at first is pink then turns blue. Once completely dissolved, the water turns lilac and if you look close enough you’ll see that the water glistens, it’s really beautiful! I found this to be really relaxing and calming, perfect for a bath before bed.

I love the occasional bubble bath so picking up a bubble bar was a must. I chose the Creamy Candy Bubble Bar mainly for it’s lovely sweet candy floss like scent. Creamy Candy contains almond oil and cocoa butter chunks that melt onto the surface of the water, giving skin a velvety like texture. I can’t wait to try this out!

Last but not least is the Fizzbanger Bath Bomb. Again, I just chose this mainly for the apple and cinnamon scent. I’m really intrigued by this bath bomb as it is said to reduce feelings of anxiety and as an anxious person, this is something that could help. Fizzbanger contains popping candy, cinnamon, petitgrain oil and ylang ylang.

What are your favourite Lush products? Any recommendations?

Sanctuary Spa Get Ready For Summer Beach Bag

I know, summers nearly over and I’m featuring a ‘Get Ready For Summer’ Beach Bag but having won this a few weeks back, I just had to share it with you guys. I’ve never tried any Sanctuary Spa products before but it has always been a brand I wanted to try, a brand I always thought seemed pretty amazing and luxurious. Having now tried their products, I can safely say these products feel luxurious and can give you a little spa like experience without leaving the house. The ‘Get Ready For Summer’ Beach Bag contains 9 products from Sanctuary Spa themselves along with 3 products from hair care brand, Charles Worthington.

Sanctuary Spa Get Ready For Summer Beach Bag

The products from Charles Worthington included their Salon at Home Sunshine Protector Shampoo and Conditioner. I haven’t tried these yet as they are the perfect size to take with me on my holiday so I’m saving them for then however I’m really excited to try these. Containing UV filters and Moringa Seed Oil, they protect your hair from the sun and the harm it can cause to your hair. I’ve never really thought about the sun damaging my hair before but when you think about it, it makes sense.

The Salon At Home Sunshine Protector Leave In Spray was also included, however it had leaked and there was nothing left in the bottle so I’m a little gutted about that.

Sanctuary Spa Get Ready For Summer Beach Bag

Now onto the products from Sanctuary Spa. In the bag, there were two Cleansing Burst Body Washes. One full size 250ml bottle and it’s travel companion, a 75ml version which again is perfect for my upcoming holiday. An aromatic body wash that is infused with essential oils and spices to give your skin a gentle cleanse and condition whilst sesame oil and jojoba leave your skin feeling soft and silky smooth with a gorgeous subtle scent. And let me tell you, the scent is beautiful.

Sanctuary Spa Get Ready For Summer Beach Bag

If you’ve read this blog for some time then you will know how much I love the Soap & Glory Hand Food hand cream. I was quite excited to see the Sanctuary Spa Velvety Hand Cream included and I hoped it would be on par with Hand Food or possibly even better. I’m not too sure yet if I like it or not, it definitely has a ‘velvet’ feel to it once it sinks into the skin and it does sink into the skin a lot quicker then Hand Food does but I’m just not certain on how it feels on my hands. I’m picky like that!

The Intensive Heel Balm gives your rough, dry and cracked heels a little pamper by using Shea Butter and a blend of Wheat Germ, Vitamin E & Rosehip Oil to moisture the skin leaving it soft, smooth and nourished.

A product I’m still yet to use is the Ultimate Salt Scrub. I’m quite intrigued by this having never used a salt scrub before so I can’t wait to give it a go. It is said to leave skin ‘perfectly polished and gorgeously moisturised’.

Sanctuary Spa Get Ready For Summer Beach Bag

Next is the Silky Smooth Body Lotion. As the name suggests, this lotion leaves your skin feeling silky smooth whilst easily absorbing into the skin for quick usage. Containing a mix of ginger and fragrant spices to help stimulate circulation as well as nourishing jojoba to provide 24 hour moisturisation.

This next one is a little hard to explain. I was expecting the Feather-Light Moisture Spray to be like other sprays I’ve used, such as the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. The refreshing kind. What’s different about this spray is when you spray it onto the face, its like a gentle dry mist rather than the usual water spray. It is really weird however leaves the skin feeling amazing. It sinks in quickly leaving no residue on the skin whatsoever whilst giving the skin a nice healthy sheen. I love it!

Sanctuary Spa Get Ready For Summer Beach Bag

Last but not least are my 2 favourite products. The Luxurious Body Butter is exactly that, super luxurious. Not only does it feel luxurious but the scent is too, I’m seriously in love with this product. It is said to be packed with luxurious (how many times have I said luxurious!?) butters like cocoa and shea, oil from macadamia nuts and sweet almonds. It’s no wonder it smells amazing. If there was one thing I recommend you try from everything mentioned in this post, it would be this.

Having nearly finished my favourite Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub, I was on the lookout for a new scrub so this was perfect timing. The Gentle Polish Body Scrub is extremely gentle on the skin so much so that it can be used daily to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. Ingredients include patchouli, orange oil and natural pumice that work together to leave the skin awakened, revitalised and super soft.

Unfortunately the Sanctuary Spa Get Ready For Summer Beach Bag is no longer available to purchase. However all the products are quite reasonably priced considering the quality of the products themselves. Hopefully Sanctuary Spa will bring this out again next summer!

Have you tried anything from Sanctuary Spa? What’s your favourite product?

August Birchbox: The Beauty Junkie Box
August Birchbox: The Beauty Junkie Box

This is now the 5th Birchbox I’ve received and I’m still so excited when I get my hands on this box every month, it’s definitely become my favourite beauty box. Each month Birchbox have a different theme for their boxes, you may remember last month was the Birchbag, which I loved. This month’s box is the ‘Beauty Junkie’ box, celebrating the Beauty Junkie in all of us. As you can see the box design has little Birchbox beauty emojis (there are also stickers in the box!) which I find so cute. As usual, there are 6 deluxe samples in the box and this month there are also two make up items included. Want to see what they were? Read on…

August Birchbox: The Beauty Junkie Box

August Birchbox: The Beauty Junkie Box

The product I was probably most excited by was the Rituals Fortune Scrub. I’ve heard many good things about Rituals and all their products but have never tried anything of theirs before. This scrub is a mild cleansing scrub that smells absolutely heavenly, it is enriched with Sweet Orange and Cedar and transforms on contact with water into a silky foaming exfoliating cream. I really can’t wait to try this out!

Next is a product I already have and received in another beauty box, the Look Fantastic box in fact. However it’s such a good product I actually don’t mind having another. The Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo is a detoxifying shampoo that is made for getting rid of dirt and product build up making your hair feel brand new, soft and refined.

August Birchbox: The Beauty Junkie Box

The next product is from a brand I’ve been dying to try for a long time. They are known for their quirky packaging and I’ve also read that their products are amazing. The Balm Cosmetics Balm Desert Bronzer/Blush sample comes in a teeny tiny booklet-like packaging which is perfect for travelling as you don’t have to worry about any damage whatsoever. This is a bronzer/blush hybrid and on my skin tone, it is most definitely a bronzer. It has a fade resistant formula to give skin a fresh and sun-kissed look. I can’t wait to try it out and this will probably be my go to bronzer for my upcoming holiday!

A brand I’ve got to try quite a few products from with thanks to beauty boxes like Birchbox is Lord & Berry. Featured this month is their Blush in ‘Lotus’. I own no blush like this, as it is pretty dark and I’m not really sure how it will look but I’m excited to give it a go. However I really dislike the sample packaging, knowing how clumsy I am, I will probably have this smashed in no time.

August Birchbox: The Beauty Junkie Box

A couple of weeks before you receive your box, Birchbox release teasers of what products you could receive. The first teaser this time round featured the Huygens Exfoliating Cream. I loved the sound of it so I was hoping I would receive it so as you can imagine, I was very excited when I opened my box and saw this. This cream is so lightweight I actually thought the pot was empty but no, it was completely full. Containing rice powder particules, this exfoliating cream works to purify and lift away dead skin cells without any irritation whatsoever. It also leaves the skin feeling soft, illuminated and hydrated.

Last but not least is a product I was really intrigued by and have since tested out. The Formula 10.0.6 Overnight Success contains 21 clear single use patches that you apply to blemishes overnight. The patches contain natural antiseptic ingredients such as tea tree and grapeseed and work overnight to reduce redness, irritation and inflammation. Having used these already, I can safely say that they work brilliantly. I had two very sore, red blemishes on my chin that were driving me crazy, the next morning the redness had calmed and the soreness had massively reduced. These patches are only £2.95 so I’m definitely considering purchasing these when I run out.

If you wish to join Birchbox, you can do so using my link here. We’ll both get £5 to spend in the Birchbox shop too which is fantastic. That is one thing I love about Birchbox, not only do you get great boxes through your door each month but each time you are rebilled for the next box or review the products you receive you earn points which in turn can be built up to spend in the shop. I’m nearing £30 now and I’m trying to save up to at least £50 so I can have a little spree! Can’t wait for that!

What’s your favourite beauty box? Are you subscribed to Birchbox? What did you think of this months box? Let me know in the comments!

Look Fantastic August Beauty Box

Look Fantastic August Beauty Box

A new month means a new Look Fantastic box.. pretty sure I’ve said that in a blog post before, oh well. I wasn’t actually going to buy this months box because I’m currently saving up for a holiday and every penny counts but when I saw the contents of this box.. well, that plan went completely out the window! Damn you Look Fantastic, damn you! Hehe. So when this arrived at my door, as you can imagine, I was pretty excited. In my opinion, this has to be one of the best boxes yet! Want to see what is in this months? Read on..

Look Fantastic August Beauty Box

The first thing that caught my eye was this cleanser by Eve Lom. The Eve Lom Cleanser comes in a really generous 30ml pot which is fantastic. I’ve wanted to try this cleanser for a while now as I love Eve Lom as a brand. I have tried teeny tiny samples of their tinted moisturiser and brightening cream and loved them so I’m sure I’ll love this. I was expecting it to be a cream-like formula but it’s actually a balm cleanser so it starts off quite thick and then melts into the skin. I can’t wait to try this out.

Next we have the Rimmel Wonder’full Wake Me Up Mascara. I’ve been meaning to buy this mascara for ages but have never got round to it so I was so happy to see this included in the box. Rimmel mascaras are pretty much my favourite drugstore mascaras, I currently have about 5 I think (mascara hoarder, much?) so I’m bound to love this one too. This mascara contains cucumbers and vitamins and has a precision brush to wrap each lash for clump-free, defined and uplifted lashes.

Look Fantastic August Beauty Box

The Look Fantastic box features two haircare products this month. The first being the Caviar CC Cream by Alterna. Yes you read that right, this is for your hair and not your skin! The Caviar CC Cream is a leave-in hair perfector that is said to perfect hair in 10 different ways for complete moisture, shine, UV protection and more. It is also free from parabens, sulphates, paraffin etc. which is always a good thing! I’m looking forward to trying this out.

The other hair product featured is also a 10 in 1 product and it is the Beauty Works 10 in 1 Miracle Spray. I’ve never heard of this brand before but I’m really intrigued by this spray. It is said to help eliminate frizz, prevent split ends, restore shine and so much more. You can use it on either towel dried or dry hair and it contains all natural ingredients such as macadamia oil and argan oil.

Look Fantastic August Beauty Box

The last two products are by brands that have been featured in past Look Fantastic boxes. The first is from Omorovicza and it is their Queen of Hungary Mist. I loved when Look Fantastic included the Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm in a past box so I was excited to see this face mist included this month. The Queen of Hungary mist formula is based on the first perfume on record, the Queen of Hungary Water. It is said to leave you feeling refreshed and energised and is blended with orange blossom, rose and sage waters. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this product, it’s just a shame the sample is so small, it will be difficult to get a proper feel for it.

The last product is the Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder In Snow Flake. This is said to be a multi purpose shimmer powder that can be used combined with moisturiser, lip balm or water to create a cream eyeshadow, highlighter and even a lipstick or mascara. Amazing. This shimmer powder is created using 100% pure Mica powder and is said to be smear and crease free.

I’m so happy with this months box and to think I wasn’t even going to buy it! I’m so glad I did. I’m really excited for next months box as the Look Fantastic beauty box is celebrating it’s 1st Birthday! I’d imagine (and also praying) it’s going to be a pretty amazing box. It does say to prepare to be spoilt. How exciting! Can. Not. Wait!

Product Empties are my favourite posts to read on blogs. I think it’s a great way to show your readers what products you’ve really been loving because well, you’ve used them up! This is the case most of the time anyway, there is a product featured here that is not empty but I will not be using it again, ever so it’s destined for the bin. A few of these products are fairly new and I’ve only finished using them recently however some are months old and now I’m glad they can finally be chucked! So let’s see what products I’ve used up..

Soap & Glory Hand Food – No other hand cream makes my hands feel as lovely as this. It sinks into the skin in seconds and leaves my hands feeling soft and smooth for hours. Not only does it do a great job, it smells lovely too! I’ve already got another tube and I will keep on repurchasing this for as long as I can.

Dr PawPaw Original Balm – I received this balm back in February in my first ever Look Fantastic box. I didn’t start using it until March and only finished it about 2 weeks ago and considering the size of this tube (10ml) it lasted such a long time! I did apply it a fair few times all day, everyday. The balm itself is nice and did leave my lips feeling soft and supple. This is probably my new favourite lip balm and I will probably buy the full size once I’ve finished up my current one by Cowshed.

Rimmel BB Cream 9 in 1 Makeup – It’s been a while since I finished this BB cream by Rimmel. A nice light base that is perfect for summer or those days when you don’t want to wear too much make up. I don’t think this is anything particularly special however, it did an ok job but not something I would purchase again unless I had to.

Lancome Hydra Zen Neurocalm – Technically this is not empty yet but is very close to being done so I decided to feature it now. I’m so sad that I’m close to finishing this, it’s such a lovely moisturiser! It’s a very small sample pot but it has taken me a fair while to get to the bottom. This cream has improved my skin immensely over the last few months and I’m sad that as it’s so expensive it’s unlikely I’m going to able to purchase a full size one, for some time anyway.

Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum – Yep, I’ve finished my sample of the Clinique Custom Repair Serum that I got with InStyle back in May. This surprisingly lasted longer than I thought it would, but when it stopped pumping out product I was so gutted. I actually shouted ‘No!’, thats how much I love this serum. I was starting to see a difference to my skin too. Oh well! Would I buy again? Definitely. However it’s an expensive product too, so I might have to win the lottery before I’m able.

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer – This concealer was the first ‘pen-brush’ concealer I tried and it made me love the concept. However in terms of the product, it’s not that good in the slightest. It covered up my dark circles but not as well as the Collection Lasting Perfection does. I won’t be repurchasing this!

Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes – Now we have the product that is not empty however I will not be using these ever again. I had high hopes for these wipes, the first time I used them I had a little burning sensation but nothing too major. The next time, my skin went completely red and the burning was intense, it was awful. It took about half an hour to calm down and these went straight in the bin. In terms of removing make up, they were incredible but obviously that doesn’t matter now. If you have sensitive skin, please do not use these!

COLAB Dry ShampooI finished this and another 50ml can a while back and I was surprised at how long they lasted considering the size. This dry shampoo is not the best on the market in my opinion, however for the price is a good bargain. It does the job leaving my hair feeling clean but it can still look a bit of a mess but I would probably purchase another 50ml and try it again.

Astral All Over Moisturiser – The last product is my favourite moisturiser. I’ve been using Astral since I was a teenager and its a great cream. I’m quite surprised that this gets no love in the blogging world, that I’ve seen. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated, protected and has worked wonders for me over the years. I haven’t repurchased as I want to try out different moisturisers however I can guarantee that one day I will go back to this.

What products have you used up recently?
