Look Fantastic July Beauty Box
Look Fantastic July Beauty Box

Once again this month Look Fantastic delivers a great beauty box filled with luxury skincare, hair care and make up products. This month’s box is worth £50 and includes some fabulous products from well known brands. Also if you’re lucky your box may even include a ghd platinum styler worth a whopping £165.00! I really hope one day my box will include one of these extra treats from Look Fantastic! So if you’re box turns up looking larger than usual chances are you’re one of the lucky ones! Let me know if you buy Look Fantastic boxes and have ever received one of the extra treats! Anyway onto this months box…

Look Fantastic July Beauty Box

This shampoo by Kebelo is said to rid your hair of built up impurities with it’s mild ingredients that work to exfoliate your hair, rejuvenating every strand. It is also paraben and sulphate free which is always a good thing! This shampoo can also be used as little as once a month (depending on your lifestyle) and even as a body wash! Can’t wait to try this shampoo out!
Balance Me have quickly become one of my favourite skincare brands. Having been able to try a few products thanks to beauty boxes and I’ve loved each and every one, so I’m bound to love this face wash by them. Even though it is for normal to combination skin (I have very dry skin) I will still give it a try. It is said to be super-fast and effective while effortlessly removing all make up and impurities.
Believe it or not, I have actually never tried a facial oil before! I’m very excited to try this oil by Monu out. It is said to nourish and protect your skin and contains a blend of rosewood oil and patcholi to soothe dry skin and stimulate your complexion! Sounds just like what my skin needs.
So excited to see another product from one of my favourite brands, Nuxe in this months box! I had already received the Golden Shimmer version of this oil in May’s box and it is a lovely product so I’m happy to have the non shimmer version too. This oil can be used to nourish, repair and soften face, body and hair.
A brand I’ve always wanted to try but never have! This balm by Trilogy is a multi-purpose balm for use anywhere on the face and body. It melts on contact with skin and absorbs quickly for a smooth finish. Lips, elbows, feet – you can use this pretty much anywhere.
Like Balance Me, Lord & Berry is another brand I’ve grown to love thanks to beauty boxes. Funnily enough, the timing of this is great! In my last post, I mentioned how I’m now a converted lip liner lover and now I have this lip liner too! I haven’t tried it out yet, but it looks like a lovely shade, I can’t wait to give it a whirl.
That’s all the products this month, although it seems like a lot of the brands are being repeated in recent boxes and the shimmer version of the Nuxe dry oil was in April’s, I still feel as if this is a great box. I will use everything I received and that’s what it’s all about really.
Have you bought this months box? What’s your opinion on it?

June Favourites

June is over and it’s once again favourites time.. seriously, I know I say this every time but the months are just flying by aren’t they!? I mean we’re half way through 2015 already?! Crazy. Anyway this month my favourites mainly consist of new things I’ve bought in the past few weeks, some of which have already been featured in posts. So here’s what I’ve been loving in June..

June Favourites

Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo Ignite My Colour
Featured in Saturday’s post this dry shampoo by Herbal Essences is brilliant. It does everything it should although it is said to ‘ignite’ your colour however it doesn’t do anything to the colour of my hair! But it makes it feel clean, look clean and gives it a bit of volume and that’s all you want really! Definitely a new favourite.

Cowshed Lippy Cow Natural Lip Balm
I’ve only just started using this lip balm I got in Look Fantastic’s March box. It’s a lovely lip balm, most balms are quite thick however this one by Cowshed is lightweight and moisturising leaving your lips soft and supple and it has completely natural ingredients – always a bonus!

Soap & Glory Solar Powder Bronzer
Previously reviewed here, I really love this bronzer by Soap & Glory. A lovely subtle bronzer perfect for us pale people. I’ve used it alot, I wouldn’t be surprised if i hit pan in a few weeks.

Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencil in ‘In With Coral’
These lip pencils by Maybelline have become a huge make up bag staple of mine! I currently own two, both reviewed here. However, ‘In With Coral’ is my favourite, the coral colour is just beautiful. I love the formula of these lip pencils, creamy and super moisturising. I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up with each colour!

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob
I have never used a lip liner before and never really thought I would. However I saw many people rave about this lip liner from Rimmel and kept looking for it in Boots/Superdrug for ages, it was always sold out. A few weeks back, I managed to get my hands on it and I’m so glad I did! It is so gorgeous, great at giving the appearance of fuller lips and not drying at all. A full review will be coming on Thursday!

What have you been loving this month?

Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo has become incredibly popular over the last few years and is a great alternative to washing your hair if you have no time to jump in the shower, if you’re off to a festival or simply want to spread out the time between washes like myself. I have incredibly greasy hair and I’m lucky if I can go 2 days without washing it, sometimes I can stretch to 3 days but it’s rare. So because of this I’ve tried many dry shampoos to see if I can spread out the time between washes. Here are the best & worst dry shampoos I’ve tried..

Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo Aussome Volume
Starting with the worst of the bunch, I had high hopes for this dry shampoo from Aussie but what a disappointment this was! It did absolutely nothing to my hair, it still looked a greasy mess and volume? What volume? My hair was still as flat as a pancake. Not only that, I only used it a few times and now the spray won’t work and when you shake the bottle, it sounds as if the product has just turned to water. I would definitely NOT recommend this!!

COLAB Dry Shampoo
A good dry shampoo if you’re on a budget and it also does not leave any residue whatsoever. It leaves my hair feeling clean but my hair can still look a bit greasy and flat with no volume whatsoever. It’s all good having my hair feel clean but I’d like it to look nice too, I don’t want to go outside looking like a hobo! These comes in a whole range of scents too, I had Rio & London and they are lovely but I probably won’t be buying these again.

Batiste Dry Shampoo
I never used to get along with Batiste, it just didn’t do anything. Recently, however it has been doing a great job with my hair! Leaving it look clean and refreshed and also slightly volumised. The only downside? The residue it can leave behind. You really have to make sure you work this into your hair as going out with grey patches on your hair? Not a good look!!

Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo Ignite My Colour
The newest of the bunch is this dry shampoo from Herbal Essences. This one is especially for coloured hair and is said to ‘ignite’ your colour, I wouldn’t say this makes any difference to my coloured hair. However it is a good dry shampoo and actually leaves my hair with a bit of volume and texture whilst looking and feeling clean. It also smells gorgeous too! Always a bonus.

Macadamia Oil Flawless Cleansing Conditioner
Technically not a ‘dry’ shampoo as you have to apply it to wet hair and rinse. However it is my favourite! It’s the closest thing to properly washing your hair, it leaves your hair feeling clean, refreshed and looking lovely. It can however leave it feeling a bit weighed down which is a bummer but I can live with that. It’s also more expensive than dry shampoos are however it lasts a really long time so it’s definitely worth it!

What’s your favourite dry shampoo?

Birchbox June Beauty Box
Birchbox June Beauty Box

This months Birchbox features a collaboration with the brand, French Sole. This month we had a choice between 3 gorgeous box designs – the one I chose was described as the ‘From Paris With Love’ box which I had to choose as I’m obsessed with stripes and I love Paris (who doesn’t?). The other two boxes featured a beautiful watercolour-like flower design and the other looked a bit like liquorice allsorts sweets to me! Inside along with the 6 products there is also a shoe bag in the same design as your chosen box which will definitely come in handy! Maybe not for shoes as such but for storage purposes. I’ll stop rambling on now and finally get onto what products were in my Birchbox this month..

Birchbox June Beauty Box

Balance Me Super Moisturising Body Wash
This month each box will contain one full size (100ml) product. I love Balance Me as a brand so I was super happy to see this body wash in the box! This body wash is said to be soothing and moisturising thanks to its rich shea butter formulation. Apparently this is so moisturising it also takes away the need to moisturise after your shower which is great if you’re in a hurry! Can’t wait to try it out!

Penhaligon’s Iris Prima Eau De Parfum
Next up is a little sample of the Iris Prima perfume from Penhaligon’s. It’s a gorgeous perfume, definitely something I’d wear. It contains notes of bergamot, jasmine sambac and vanilla just to name a few (there are a lot of notes in this perfume!) Penhaligon’s describe it’s ‘personality’ as Contemporary & Understated. While I really like this perfume, it’s unlikely I’d ever buy it as it’s pretty pricey! A 50ml costs £88.00!

HIP Ultra Shine Shampoo
I was a bit disappointed to see a shampoo in this month’s box as I have lots of full size and sample size shampoos lying around however after reading up on this shampoo by HIP I’m quite looking forward to giving it a go. It’s a brightening shampoo that uses a specially created oxygenated formula to detoxify and rejuvenate the scalp. My scalp is very dry at the moment so I’m hoping this may help! Fingers crossed.

Cynthia Rowley Creamy Lip Stain in Poppy
Next is a lip stain from fashion designer Cynthia Rowley’s beauty line. This lip stain is the tiniest lip sample I’ve ever seen but it is the perfect size for popping in your handbag! I haven’t tried this lip stain out yet however the shade ‘Poppy’ is gorgeous.

Styl London Temporary Tattoos
Temporary tattoos have well and truly made a comeback! Perfect for festivals, parties etc these are definitely the must have summer accessory. I will probably be wearing these at my event this coming weekend and I’m pretty excited to try them out, hopefully they apply well and look nice!

Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes
The product I was most excited about in this months box were these facial wipes by Yes To. A brand that I’ve been dying to try out for ages after reading rave reviews. I haven’t used facial wipes in years to remove make up but these are lovely! Obviously you need a few to remove all your make up and theres only 10 in the pack so these won’t last long unfortunately.

Birchbox June Beauty Box

That’s all the products in this months Birchbox! I wouldn’t say it’s the best box from them however it is still pretty good. If you are a subscriber of Birchbox make sure to share a picture of your box on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #BirchboxXFrenchSole and follow both Birchbox & French Sole to win a £100 French Sole voucher and some beauty goodies!

Not a subscriber but want to join up? You can use my referral link here where we will both get £5 to spend in the Birchbox shop too!

Look Fantastic June Beauty Box
Look Fantastic June Beauty Box

A new month means a new Look Fantastic Beauty Box! This months box which is worth £53 contains a great selection of skincare and haircare products from some great brands. Not everyone will receive the exact same selection this month, so if you have ordered a box your items may not be exactly the same as what I’ve received, however you should have some of these products in your box! Also if you’re one of the lucky 30, you may receive a FOREO Luna (worth £149.00) in your box! I’m so jealous! So let’s see what I got in my box this month..

Look Fantastic June Beauty Box

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum
I was so happy to see this Caudalie serum in the box! After receiving the Vinoperfect Tinted Moisturiser in my Birchbox last month, I really wanted to try out the serum and now I can! It’s a very watery lightweight serum and it sinks into the skin quickly and leaves it feeling lovely!

Korres Aloe & Soapwort Shampoo
I’ve lost count of how many Korres products I’ve received in all the beauty boxes I’ve ever bought, it feels like loads! This shampoo smells gorgeous however it seems very oily and I’m a bit wary about using this to wash my hair with as I have very greasy hair! I will give it a go though, hopefully I’ll be proved wrong but I don’t hold out much hope. Also this is one product you may not receive in your box, you may receive a product from Tigi, Alterna, Redken or Balance Me instead.

Label.M Shine Spray
Funnily enough I actually ordered a Label M Blow Out Spray along with my box then I open my box and see this product inside too! I wasn’t too impressed with the blow out spray, it doesn’t seem to do much to my hair, I’m yet to use the Shine Spray but hopefully this one will deliver! Again you may not receive this product in your box instead you may receive a product from KMS or L’Anza.

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask
I’ve always wanted to try REN but never have so I was excited to see this mask in the box! This is an exfoliating peel mask that is designed to remove dead skin cells to renew your complexion. I can’t wait to give this a go!

Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion
This product is basically an anti-ageing product that is used to restore mature skin into a more youthful appearance. Obviously I’m not in that age bracket yet however I use anti-ageing products now even when I’m young rather than waiting so I’ll be giving this a go!

Nuxe Creme Prodigiuse Anti Fatigue Moisturising Cream
I get so excited when a box contains a product from Nuxe, every product I’ve tried from them I’ve loved so I’m sure I’ll love this too! However I received the cream that is for Normal/Combination skin and I would have preferred to receive the one for dry skin, however I obviously can’t blame Look Fantastic for that as they don’t know me so I will give this one a go!

That is all the products from this month’s Look Fantastic beauty box, some really good products in there don’t you think? Again like last month it contains a box full of products I will get use of which is a good thing! If you wish to order a Look Fantastic box for £15.00, click here.
