The Must Have Scents For Summer.

When I was a teenager, So…? Fragrances were the go to brand for scents. I remember being obsessed with the Kiss Me body spray. Anyone else? I feel like every girl probably was at some point. Fast forward 10 or so years (omg, I’m old), So…? have made a bit of a comeback with their lovely range of Body Mists that come in various, gorgeous fragrances that have quickly become my go to scents this summer.

Over the past couple of months, my Instagram feed has been jam packed with stunning flat lays featuring these mists. The first thing that caught my eye was the pretty, fun, summery packaging and eventually, I couldn’t resist so I ended up heading to Superdrug to pick a few up. I currently have 4 scents –

White Petals – My absolute favourite, I adore floral scents. This mist contains delicate notes of bergamot, freesia and water lily. It’s pretty dreamy!

Vanilla Milkshake – I find this the perfect summer scent! It smells exactly like Vanilla milk shake, yummy! It features notes of sweet vanilla and a mix of peach and plum.

Floriental – Again, I love my floral scents so this was a must have. This mist features a fruity mix of pear, apple and mandarin and also, freesia and violet.

Fruity – A gorgeous fresh scent featuring zingy notes of mandarin and a blend of peachy notes.

What I love most about these is how handy they are. You can pop one in your handbag for touch ups throughout the day to make sure you continue to smell gorgeous or if you’re headed to a festival soon they’re the perfect fragrances to pack and therefore you won’t have to worry about losing your favourite, expensive perfume! These body mists are available in 14 different scents and they are currently half price at Boots. Buy here.

Have you tried these body mists?

Janina Ultra White Teeth Whitening Range

When I was 18, I finally got braces after years of hating my smile, covering my mouth in every single photo and generally so self-conscious of how I looked. When they came off two years later, I was finally a confident smiler. Now more than ever, I take pride in the appearance of my teeth and try to take the best care of them. When I was asked to review the Janina Ultra White Teeth Whitening Range for National Smile Month (15th May-15th June), I couldn’t say no. Read on to find out how I got on!

The Janina Ultra White Teeth Whitening Range consists of 8 products and I was sent the Sensitive Toothpaste and Maxiwhite Whitening Strips to try. The range has a unique, clinically proven low-abrasive formula thanks to being free from hydrogen peroxide and contains the Whitening Patented Bromaine Complex, a combination of natural fruit enzymes such as pineapple and papaya providing us with the safest option for whiter teeth.

Janina Ultra White Sensitive Toothpaste* |
I’ve been using this twice daily since I received it and the difference it has made to my teeth is astonishing. I don’t think I’ll ever use another toothpaste again! It may be a little bit more expensive than my usual toothpaste but it’s worth it. Janina suggest using this twice daily for 3 minutes and for the best results avoid using mouthwash or water to rinse afterwards as this will allow the formulation to work even longer. I found this quite difficult at first as I’ve been using mouthwash religiously since the day I got my braces on 7 years ago but I’m now used to it! I have very sensitive teeth and I’ve also noticed it has reduced significantly since using this toothpaste.

Janina Maxiwhite Whitening Strips* |
I was so excited to use these as I’ve been wanting to try similar products for ages (such as the Crest 3D Whitening Strips). This is a 7-day system, to be used twice a day. However, I opted to use them over 14 days, once a day as this fitted in better with my routine. Each packet contains a mint-flavoured strip for the upper and lower teeth to be used on dry teeth for 30 minutes after brushing. I found the lower strip more of a pain to work with, it would constantly slip around and take a while to stick, whereas I never had any problems with the upper strip. Upon removal, it would leave a tacky film on the teeth which was the only downside to these strips, I couldn’t stand the feeling. However, a quick brush or rinse soon removed the gel to reveal a whiter smile. I wouldn’t say the results are amazing but my teeth are definitely a lot less yellow and brighter.

You can buy these products and the rest of the Ultra White Range here at Boots. I’m tempted to try the Whitening Trays next!

What are your favourite teeth whitening products?

Francisca’s account is absolute goals! So so beautiful. I’ve not been following her for long and I don’t know why it took me so long to find her feed. Her feed has become one of my favourites very quickly and every image is just so beautifully shot. I just love those pink hues! I wish I could achieve something so beautiful as Francisca’s feed. Mine looks so dull in comparison!

Laura | LauraMillsMakeup

Another beautiful feed from makeup artist and fellow beauty blogger Laura… Not only does she have a fabulous name (ha!) but her feed is absolutely delightful. You might see a theme developing here.. Laura’s feed also has a gorgeous pink tone to it and I must admit these kind of feeds draw me in. What can I say? Pink is my favourite colour after all πŸ™‚

7 More Instagrams To Follow.

Leanne | lpbeautyblog

Leanne’s blog is one of my favourites for detailed reviews on everything from makeup to skincare but her Instagram is also one of my favourites! I love how simple her theme is with just the products, marble/fluffy backgrounds and a few props featured.. nothing too fancy but still just as lovely, unique and they stand out remarkably, so you’ll always know a photo Leanne took which is something I try to aim for with mine (still trying!) and I think everyone else should too. It’s good to have photos that stand out from the rest and are easily recognisable. πŸ™Œ

Sally | sallyokelly

I have loved Sally’s blog for ages now and her Instagram too! I love how colourful her feed and photos are. Her flatlays aren’t your ‘typical’ blogger flatlay, they are so much more vibrant and just down right pretty. I also love her outfit photos and of course, ones of her adorable pup, Elsie. Again, her photo’s stand out from the rest. πŸ‘

Back on the pink hues theme with Caitlin’s feed which I adore! Her photography is amazing and again, very unique and so aesthetically pleasing thanks to all her rose gold items like those amazing Eiffel Tower scissors 😍  Since discovering Caitlin’s feed, my beauty wishlist has grown and my bank account won’t too pleased about it soon enough..

How To Save Money on Your Beauty Purchases.

When you’re on a budget each month but you like to shop like no tomorrow, it can be a pretty damn difficult situation to be in. So to try and justify my purchases, I try my hardest to save money on them or in some way benefit from said purchase. Apart from the benefit of having new things to swoon over, obviously! There are many ways you can do this from store cards to cashback. Today, I thought I’d share some ways to save money on your beauty purchases..

STORE CARDS |

And no, I’m not talking about those store credit cards where you can gain rewards but also rack up a ton of debt, do not get these unless you can afford the repayments! I’m talking about the cards that give you points every time you spend. Such as the Boots Advantage Card and the Superdrug Beauty Card. I would say the Boots advantage card is my favourite. I don’t know if it’s because I visit at least once a month or more but I find I can build my points up much quicker here than the likes of Superdrug. Last year, I managed to spend my points wholly on a No.7 Illuminated Mirror! I didn’t have to pay a penny, nice.

Other cards include the Debenhams Beauty Club Card, SpaceNK N.dulge and even the likes of the Tesco Clubcard and Nectar, if you ever buy any makeup during your weekly food shop.

CASHBACK |

If you’re a serial online shopper, you must sign up to a cashback site! You could earn back so much on your purchases. In the time that I’ve been a member of TopCashback, I have earned just under Β£50. Of course these aren’t all beauty purchases but the majority are. This money goes straight into my savings! It’s great and most major online shopping sites are available on TopCashback or Quidco, the most popular cashback sites. For example at the moment, you could gain 11.1% cashback on purchases on LookFantastic. The only downside is that it can take a while for your cashback to be payable but it’s so worth the wait.

VOUCHERS AND COUPON SITES |

Quite similar to the last one but I do love voucher sites like VoucherCodes.co.uk. I don’t use them for beauty purchases often but I will always search before I make a purchase that I’ll spend a fair amount of money on just to see if there’s any way I can save, even if it’s just free delivery. Sites like Groupon or Wowcher can sometimes feature some great beauty deals too, when I’m bored I’ll often have a scroll through to see if anything catches my eye.

SHOP AT BARGAIN STORES |

TKMaxx has long known been a haven for bargain beauty products but more so recently. Instore now they have the likes of NARS, Too Faced and Makeup Forever which are brands you could easily spend a day’s wages on in stores like Debenhams. Unfortunately, you need to look hard to find products that haven’t been touched which does annoy me greatly, why do people have to stick their fingers in everything? I know people want to test but in TKMaxx it just leaves the makeup looking gross. But if you’re lucky, you can pick up an untouched bargain.

Poundland also seem to have a good range of brands in at the moment. For example, Sleek. I know they are a fairly budget brand to begin with but to save a couple of quid is always good. Other brands that have been spotted include Rimmel.

Fragrance Direct are another great website for bargains. You can get discounted MAC, Estee Lauder and NARS.

If you’re lucky, you might even find a great deal on eBay too. Obviously, you must be wary you’re not getting a complete rip off product, but I have been lucky a few times, most recently on my purchase of the L.A Girl Pro Concealer which as far as I can tell is the original. Just remember to check the sellers feedback.
