Look Fantastic June Beauty Box
Look Fantastic June Beauty Box

A new month means a new Look Fantastic Beauty Box! This months box which is worth £53 contains a great selection of skincare and haircare products from some great brands. Not everyone will receive the exact same selection this month, so if you have ordered a box your items may not be exactly the same as what I’ve received, however you should have some of these products in your box! Also if you’re one of the lucky 30, you may receive a FOREO Luna (worth £149.00) in your box! I’m so jealous! So let’s see what I got in my box this month..

Look Fantastic June Beauty Box

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum
I was so happy to see this Caudalie serum in the box! After receiving the Vinoperfect Tinted Moisturiser in my Birchbox last month, I really wanted to try out the serum and now I can! It’s a very watery lightweight serum and it sinks into the skin quickly and leaves it feeling lovely!

Korres Aloe & Soapwort Shampoo
I’ve lost count of how many Korres products I’ve received in all the beauty boxes I’ve ever bought, it feels like loads! This shampoo smells gorgeous however it seems very oily and I’m a bit wary about using this to wash my hair with as I have very greasy hair! I will give it a go though, hopefully I’ll be proved wrong but I don’t hold out much hope. Also this is one product you may not receive in your box, you may receive a product from Tigi, Alterna, Redken or Balance Me instead.

Label.M Shine Spray
Funnily enough I actually ordered a Label M Blow Out Spray along with my box then I open my box and see this product inside too! I wasn’t too impressed with the blow out spray, it doesn’t seem to do much to my hair, I’m yet to use the Shine Spray but hopefully this one will deliver! Again you may not receive this product in your box instead you may receive a product from KMS or L’Anza.

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask
I’ve always wanted to try REN but never have so I was excited to see this mask in the box! This is an exfoliating peel mask that is designed to remove dead skin cells to renew your complexion. I can’t wait to give this a go!

Murad Rapid Collagen Infusion
This product is basically an anti-ageing product that is used to restore mature skin into a more youthful appearance. Obviously I’m not in that age bracket yet however I use anti-ageing products now even when I’m young rather than waiting so I’ll be giving this a go!

Nuxe Creme Prodigiuse Anti Fatigue Moisturising Cream
I get so excited when a box contains a product from Nuxe, every product I’ve tried from them I’ve loved so I’m sure I’ll love this too! However I received the cream that is for Normal/Combination skin and I would have preferred to receive the one for dry skin, however I obviously can’t blame Look Fantastic for that as they don’t know me so I will give this one a go!

That is all the products from this month’s Look Fantastic beauty box, some really good products in there don’t you think? Again like last month it contains a box full of products I will get use of which is a good thing! If you wish to order a Look Fantastic box for £15.00, click here.

Marie Claire Elemis Freebie

I don’t buy magazines often but when I see amazing freebies from brands I’ve always wanted to try but never have, I just have to pick up a copy! Elemis is one of those brands, I’m always lusting after their products but due to their prices, I can never afford to buy any. So obviously a freebie is always welcome in this case and I do love a good freebie! This month, Marie Claire have two Elemis freebies on offer – the Papaya Enzyme Peel and the Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm. I decided to pick up the balm as I love the concept – I’m always looking for products to create radiant glowing skin!

Marie Claire Elemis Freebie

The Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm is a multi-tasking balm said to improve complexion in just one use. It instantly brightens skin to achieve a smoother, more even and luminous complexion. This balm can be used as a primer and moisturiser to give a healthy looking glow all year round.

This balm is formulated with powerful vitamins that protect against moisture loss whilst Purple Orchid, Noni and Acai help to defend the early signs of ageing skin. Apply each morning and evening on cleansed, dry skin or under make up. You could even mix this balm with your foundation to achieve gorgeous dewy skin.

I would say this is quite a thick balm however it sinks into the skin quickly and does leave a nice glow to the skin even from first use like suggested. It has quite a strong floral scent, a little too strong for my liking however it doesn’t put me off the product at all.

I really like this balm from Elemis, I have only used it twice so far on its own and it does leave a nice glow to the skin whilst smoothing out my complexion and it also gives a nice moisture boost. I’m definitely going to try this out next mixed with my foundation, I’m intrigued to see how it will work.

Even though this product is still pretty pricey, it’s on the lower end of the scale for Elemis pricing at £35.00 for 50ml, it’s definitely one of their cheaper products. For example a 50ml Pro-Collagen Marine Cream can set you back a whopping £80.00! Expensive. If this product continues to give that lovely glow and improves my complexion throughout the usage of this sample I will probably be buying this balm.

Make sure you go and pick up Marie Claire next time you’re out shopping! I know Elemis products are very popular and well loved so these could all go very quickly! I may even go and buy another copy just for the Papaya Enzyme Peel, why not?

Other magazine freebies this month include:

InStyleNails Inc Limited Edition Polishes Inspired by The 80s
RedREN Vita Mineral Lip Balm
Elle Malin + Goetz Travel Gift Set

Whats the best freebie you’ve ever got with a magazine?

May Favourites

So another month has come and gone and May went by so quickly, is it just me or is time flying by?! How is it nearly summer? Not that I’m complaining! Most of my favourites this month are actually samples funnily enough, from magazines to beauty boxes! So a lot of purchases are probably going to be made in June, my bank account will not be happy! Carry on reading to find out what I’ve been loving in May..

May Favourites

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Polishes
I’ve previously reviewed these lovely nail polishes from Barry M, you can read that here. I’ve been loving these polishes, they’re just so easy to use especially if you’re a bit cack handed like myself and make a huge mess when painting your nails, however you won’t with these! Barry M have just launched some new shades to the range, so I’ll be picking some of them up for sure!

Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum
Also reviewed here is this serum by Clinique. I’ve been using this non-stop since getting it with this months InStyle, I’m afraid it’s probably going to run out soon and it is so expensive. So as much as I love it and it’s a great serum that I would definitely recommend, I probably won’t be purchasing a full size product, unless I win the lottery or something. Poor people problems.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturiser
I received a sample of this Caudalie tinted moisturiser in this months Birchbox and have been loving it! I initially thought it would be too dark for me, but it is actually the perfect match. It really evens out my skin tone and gives a nice amount of coverage, obviously not a huge amount, but enough and it would be a perfect light base for summer. I would even say I prefer it to the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue! This is one product I’m definitely going to be purchasing a full size version of!

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm
I’ve been reaching for this cleansing balm most days since receiving it in my Look Fantastic box this month. It’s a lovely cleanser, leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth after usage and this little pot definitely goes a long way, there is still so much left! Again very expensive, so I’m not sure I will buy a full size pot, however I really want to.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
I got this sample of the Perversion Mascara in my Naked On The Run Palette and I would say its now tied with the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara as my current favourite mascara. I’ve been reaching for it a lot! It gives so much volume and length, no clumps and intense colour! I love it.

I’d love to know what you have been loving in May?

Eucerin Dry Skin Intensive Treatment Cream

If you’ve been reading some of my latest posts, you’ll have probably seen me mention how dry my skin is at the moment. I’ve always had quite dry skin, but recently it’s gotten worse. It is mainly focused on my nose and forehead especially around my eyebrows, so I was on the hunt for something that could help and I found this cream by Eucerin. And oh my, it is amazing..

Eucerin Dry Skin Intensive Treatment Cream

This intensive treatment cream can be used anywhere on the body where you suffer from dry skin, it is also said to be perfect for dry skin conditions such as eczema, xeroderma etc. You apply it sparingly twice daily to affected areas and it sinks into the skin quickly leaving your skin feeling soft and moisturised. The cream forms a ‘fine, protective’ layer over the affected area to keep in moisture and prevent further irritation.

The constituency of the cream is heavier than your average moisturiser but still quite light so as I mentioned above it sinks in quickly which is always a good thing, especially when applying before make up. Before using this, my foundations looked pretty nasty around the affected areas, quite cakey infact, not nice. However since using this, it has improved a lot. Some days my skin looks great, however some days it can still have a little cakey look to it, however nowhere near as bad as before!

I’m so glad I found this cream, it is brilliant. It comes in a handy 100ml squeezy tube so should last a good while, I’ve had it over a month now and I’m probably not even half way through it yet!

So, if you suffer from dry skin I recommend you buy this right now, it will change your life, I’m serious! I love it and will definitely keep repurchasing it.

Do you suffer from dry skin? Do you have any product recommendations?

Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream

The Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream is a fairly new night cream, launched earlier this year. I had been using my Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask religiously, but when I saw this, something drew me in and the Origins mask was put on the back burner for a while. Unlike the Origins mask, you can apply this Garnier cream every night and you are supposed to see a difference from the 1st use. I have been using this cream for over a month now and have seen a noticeable difference in my skin..

Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream

The Garnier Miracle Sleeping Cream is meant to reduce the signs of ageing and tiredness. From the 1st morning, your skin is said to look plumper, re-hydrated and de-tired. The formula helps stimulate surface skin cell renewal so that it looks refreshed and less tired.

Now I’m young, I don’t really need to use anti-ageing products. However, I think it’s best to start early which in turn could possibly help when my skin does start to age in the future, rather than waiting until then to start using these products when it could be too late. I do however have very tired skin, I’ll be honest my sleeping routine is absolutely awful so I will do anything to make my skin look more awake and this has certainly helped.

This cream is enriched with 7 ‘miracle’ ingredients – Jojoba oil, Lavender essential oil, Hyaluronic acid, LHA, Albizia extract, Ruscus extract and Adenosine. It is inspired by Asian trends and the sleeping packs that are used there.

The constituency of this cream is light so therefore it quickly absorbs into the skin which is what you want when applying something like this before sleeping. It’s so light you could actually forget you applied it after a few minutes. Also, a little goes a long way. Having used this for over a month now, I’m not even half way through the pot yet, so this should last a good while.

Has it done anything to my skin? Absolutely. At first I was a little sceptical, I didn’t actually see any difference from first use like you’re said to, but after a few weeks I noticed my skin started to look plumper and much more awake, brighter in fact. I can’t really comment on the ageing side of things, but I’ve seen many people rave about that too.

A great night cream and does exactly what it says on the box. A winner in my books! I will keep re-purchasing this, for sure.
